				In real life...
On La-5FN and La-7, do slats pop-out asymmetrically or symmetrically?
On 109F/G/K slats, do slats pop-out asymmetrically or symmetrically?

Take one up offline and see.

opps i was gonna say "in real life", not in-game.

Asymetrically on the Bf109s.  I don't know about the Lachovkins.

Are you sure the Bf109s and bf110 slats deploy asymetrically?  I thought one of the problems with the slats on the bf109s and bf110s is that they had a tendency to deploy asymetrically.

The flaps on the 109e deploy  symmetrically howbe it on the 109 g models they deploy  asymmetrically.

				Hi ack-ack,

They deployed asymmetrically, but that was not a problem. In fact, it was a solution to asymmetrical airflow problems in asymmetrical flight.

Lavochkin slats deployed independantly of each other.

As did the slats on F-86 Sabre and numerous other planes.

They work in-game just as they did in real life.
All automatic mechanical (read non-computer/pilot controlled) slats will open independantly, but that does not neccessarily mean asymetrically. If you are in a turn the slats will open asymetrically, if you are wings level coming in for a landing, they will deploy virtually (but of course not EXACTLY) symetrically.
When the Blue Angels flew A-4 Skyhawks, they fixed their slats shut for this reason. You can imagine that at 400-500 kts and 36" separation having the slats open asymetrically is a bad thing.

One big difference of La-slats is that they rotated outwards for opening, opening a gap on the innerside, instead of moving forward down like the 109 one´s
