Linux isn't really a command line interface... it's a compiler-line interface, and to use the OS effectively you are basically writing lines of code in a programming language (shell scripting).

I like the fembots part of the flash file, tho! lol :)

Your smoking crack...

While that *could* be a true statement, Gnome, KDE and other GUI interfaces have come such a long way now, that I enjoy working in Linux much more than windows. If there's a virus or a worm breakout I usually end up reading about it, rather than suffering from it.

That and it's really freaking awesome game platform too. AH is the ONLY reason I still have windows at all.

Dan.

Bah.  Thats just a silly statement.  Dont get me wrong, I use Linux myself for some applications, but for day to day use I use Windows with all its faults.  In the last decade I've suffered ONE virus/worm.  And that I can blame directly on my old boss and a mistake on my part in setting up my Outlook Express (which I will never touch again now that I have Thunderbird).  I've had a few minor spyware infections since, but all were caught as soon as they entered my home network, secured, and neutralized.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with using Windows if you take the time to secure it properly.  Its not that hard.  If you are comfortable with Linux, you understand computers well enough to secure Windows.

True Enough,

But I am a Linux Purist and all else is EVIL!!!

Lol. :)

You are right, but it's also a political statement about freedom and rebelling against the large dehumanizing corporate grind.

Better to go with the smaller dehumanizing grind... :) :)

Preach on!  However, just realize that most people (like me) are lazy and use what is easiest.  Linux requires effort.  I dont like effort.  lol

once linux supports all the games and hardware i use i will switch

anything to stop me having to pay £200 PER licence (over £1000 in my house, or 2 "cheapo pcs"), for a OS that is just bloaty crap.... Then they tell you that the licence CANNOT be transferd to my new MB? well **** *** MS i "download" a new key instead. I paid my £200 once, im not paying AGAIN, for the same software.

MS telling me i cant upgrade my hardware just takes the biscuit

But then being the "Only" OS out there means they can charge whatever they want. And DO whatever they want. Hopefully one day linux will be up there and price wars will make MS charge what the OS is really worth.......
