Remember this day....Rude told you all it would happen.
Joe Bidon along with his running mate, Hillary Clinton.
-
The American Public will not elect Hillary Clinton to that office.
-
I think Colin powell would be good one.
Not that he is going to be candidate.
still he would suit the job.
Euros like me would love him.
:D
-
Colin Powell would be an excellent choice.
-
Joe Biden has done a really good job of portraying himself as a unique politician compared to how he ran during the democratic primaries in 2000. In 2000 he came across as a stuffy know-it-all with no real platform other than he wanted to be president.
Biden/McCain would get my vote. Biden/Clinton would not.
-
I'm hoping Wes Clark makes another run.

The only thing going for Clark is his potential to actually win.
...and some people wonder what's wrong with the Democratic Party.

I wouldn't vote for Bidon/Clinton....I'm just making a prediction as to who will be on the Democrat ticket in 08.....this country will not elect Hillary as President....Vice is another matter entirely.
Who can tell me what other Democrat male would have a strong chance at winning their nomination....there are not any.
Just remember....I told ya so:)
-
Hiya Rude, was hoping to make it down to KC this month but unfortunately real life events prevented this. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Bidon, enh?
Not improbable. But to win, he'd need a really suckass opponent, dontcha think?
Care to field a guess as to who the Republicans will table?
BTW.. Howdy & long time no see!

I think any of these are potentials:
George Allen
Jeb Bush
Elizabeth Dole
Rudy Giuliani
Charles Grassley
Chuck Hagel
Alan Keyes
John McCain
George Pataki
Colin Powell
Condoleezza Rice
Mit Romney
Rick Santorum
Arnold Schwarzenegger

You slept through "American Government" class during high school... admit it. :D

Bidon ????
:rofl
FYI in French slang it mean "not credible"/"incredible".

Hopefully not. This guy is bad news. Check out his stance on limiting liberty, not to mention his wacky national weather service legislation.

if 06 is another train wreck for the dems, they will lose 08 with whoever they toss in there
I think there is enough dirt of billary that if they tried to push her national, they'd bury her

Such as... ???
I'm confused about why conservatives revile Hilary Clinton so much. As near as I can tell, she's accomplished little.
-
Colin Powell has the sense (I think) not to run for the job. He'd be their best bet if he'd take it.
McCain would be a good choice, but they'll never give it to him. He hasnt been a good "party" boy.
Pataki, maybe, but it would be a long stretch.
Giuliani?? He'd jump at the chance, no doubt. Which is a good reason not to give it to him. Just for starters.
I could see them using Mrs. Dole or the Ricenator if the Democrats were dumb enough to use Hillarity Clinton just as a counter to the women's vote. Mrs. Dole is far more respected, although I really dont think she'd be a good candidate for the office. She's too normal.
Ahnie is unable to hold the post because he wasnt born here, so thats out.
Allen is a possibility. Hopefully he's too busy counting his money to want political office, but I could see him running.
I really dont know anything about Grassley, Hagel, or Romney, so I cant say there.
Liberal Democrats would foam at the mouth and likely assasinate Bush if he tried to run for President. I dont think they could stand another 4 years of the Bush clan in the Oval Office. I at least have a grudging respect for GW, even if he is something of a tard. At least he has some integrity. For all the faults I find with him, thats a plus I cant overlook. I dont see it in Jeb. He's all politician from my POV.
Santorum seems to be a nutjob, but I've only seen a few limited things about him, not really enough to form a decent opinion. Still, first impressions count eh?
Keyes?? Are you crazy? They'll nominate Keyes the day Jesse Jackson gets the Democratic nomination. They deserve each other. If that day ever comes, I say they lock the two of them in a pit and let them fight out the election, survivor takes the office. Then we shoot the survivor. Keyes is certifiable.
-
How about Colin Powel with Rice for Veep. Stormin Norman could be the sec of Def.
-
They have 3 years to clean up 'the Clinton'. And given our collective manner on voting for whoever tells the best lie, I think she will probably win it.
Also note, we (again the collective thing) like fads. Putting women in powerful places is a pretty good fad right now. For some reason unknow to me, we think it is cool to be so open minded, which in fact, it has nothing to do with being open-minded.
What it all boils down to, is for them (take yer pick) to find the nastiest, most sinister, egotistical, borderline sociopath they can find to run. We will vote for them. Oh yes,...we will.
-
IIRC, Giuliani's job performance polls spiked after 911 but prior to that, New Yorkers were looking forward to his exit from the office.

You really were sleeping, weren't you? It's not a law. This would require an amendment to the Constitution.
Even if it were law, Bush is the head of the Executive Branch, not Legislative and lacks the power to change laws. :D

Oops, Republicans don't like cloning. I prefer to imagine that they'll run the Ron Headrest computer simulation.
M-m-m-m-my fellow Americc-c-c-c-c-can!

She will run, she will win. It is inevitable, you see. She is the harlot, the potato of Babylon, she will uscher in the End of the World!
Oh well, it would make a really cool movie anyways.

I don't care.
I lost a lot; if not most of my American friends when they voted Dubya in for the second time.
I'm hoping we can friends again when the fool's gone.
And I'm hoping that we can still be friends after four years; that's a long time on the internet.
"We the people"
"People; What's going on?"

Dunno who'll be the candidate on the Repub. side, I think its a pretty fair bet that Hillary will be some part of the next Democratic ticket.
Odd thing is that this might be the first presidential election I'll be eligible to vote in (I haven't voted anywhere since the last time I voted in Britain in the 80s!)
I don't hold out much hope that I'll be very enthusiastic when I do so, however. It seems that the age of statesmen is long past, and these days I seem to have little or nothing in common with any politician deemed electable anyway. Even when I do agree with their position, we've usually arrived at the same point for entirely different reasons. So I guess it'll be a question of who to vote against...
Sorry to be such a cynic, I don't really put much faith in politics. History, worldview, and working in D.C. seem to have snuffed out my idealism in that area.
I'm still exuberantly optimistic about the long term prospects for the world however. ;)

Unfortunately, the Democrats would drag his wife's history of Mental illness through the mud. He stated this as being the reason for NEVER running for President. A shame, he's good man on all levels.

Yep. Mr. Powell is one of the handful of people involved with politics I would consider a man of true Character. That, of course, precludes him from ever running for President. These days you have to be a circus juggler to apply for the job.
-
I might vote for McCain.
-
I hate to say it but, I think if Hillary really runs some nut case will try to kill the lady.

I we really gonna argue about this for the next 3 years?
-
I think if Hellary runs and independent will have a very good shot at winning..
WAIT. Now HERE'S a Democratic Ticket for ya
Hillary and Sharpton.
I knew the democrates were in trouble last election when Sharpton was the one making the most sense at the DNC

Of course not, we should know who's running in at least 2- 2 1/2 years.
By the way, vote McCain!!!
-
Three years before 1992 had anyone ever heard of Bill Clinton?
Three years before 1976 had anyone ever heard of Jimmy Carter?
I think I'll wait awhile before I pay attention to who is running in 2008.
-
I think people should get "run Hillary run" bumper stickers and place them on the front bumpers of their SUVs

I think Hilary Clinton is the next
In the office

it will be McCain/Guiliani in 08

Micheal Moore/Al Sharpton '08
:aok
-
Hiya Rude!
Sounds like a winning ticket to me. Where do I sign up as a campaign volunteer?
(BTW I gotta tell ya, Missouri in the summer really sucks)
-
The biggest thing Hillary has going for her is Bill. A lot of people long for the "good old days" before 9/11 and the war on terror when Bill was in the White House.
The right can yell all they want that the ground work was done on Clintons watch or point out all the bad things he did but it won't matter. 9/11 and the war happend while Bush was in office and the public perception is that the world was a better place during the Clinton years and they want a piece of that no matter how illogical it might be.
I think the conservatives dislike for Hillary blinds them to how popular she really is. I think she will win it in 08.
