I had just tracked and killed perhaps the 4th 30K Lancaster in a half-hour... I could see a definite trend. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Anyway I posted "Night of the Bish Strato-Lanc" on the open channel as a jest. What ensued was ugly.
Imagine 20 guys who think they are funny- but not. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
"Gone With the Lanc"
"Lance Lanc, Secret Chimp"
"Planet of the Lancs"
on and on and on over the open comms. The Bish finally had enough and sent a massive B17 raid to our HQ, vainly attempting to destroy our communications network. Tragically they failed to appreciate the chain of ham radio operators stationed in secret outposts sprinkled about the southern island chain. Their defiant cries could be heard into the stillness of the Pacific night...
"Burt Lancaster"
"The Good, the Bad, and the Lancaster"
"Clint Eastwood was tall and lanky"...

I logged too... didn't care about all the corny crap... Heck there wasn't anything else to do but.... no kill messages for VERY long periods of time. 150 guys up and nothing happening. No radar no fites no nothing. If that was in some way "strat"..... Oh well... they get our 30 bucks if we log off or not.

It was a lancing experience (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Yeah, I got tired of all that Lanc stuff after an hour or two, so I logged and sat down to watch "The Texas Chainsaw Lancaster", then I turned TVLand on and caught an old rerun of "Lanc it to Beaver".
Got tired of that, so I turned on the radio, only to find Frank Sinatra singing "Lancs for the Memories".
Felt in the mood for a Western, so I popped in the DVD of "Lances with Wolves."

For StSanta (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)
Pun: Noun; A play on words, sometimes on different senses of the same word and sometimes on the similar sense of sound of different words.
An example: Sometimes when your using Puns, it isn't very punny (ie funny (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ).
To work on your sense of humor, might I suggest "Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail"?

I wasn't there but when I get there tonight maybe we can all sing "Auld Lanc Syne".

The lowest form of wit is sarcasm. But never-ending puns aren't that far behind.

But just think, somewhere are a few kids, picking thier nose and sqeezing some zits about to high five each other for making a grand old milk run!
You gotta figure that flying an easy mode bomber up to "nitrous high" levels, pretending to be bold and daring. Just to pork an undefended base. Lay money down they think this kind of work will puit hair on thier chests. I'm sure it beats doing geometry homework I reckon and it certainly keeps them off the streets where they could be doing a drive-by on thier Mongoose BMX bikes and paint-balling pedestrians.

Dude! Where's My Lanc?
And uh... Verm, it's the *Quest* for the Holy Grail! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Hehe, Mighty1. Good one! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
It may not have been all that funny, but it was infinately more fun than getting gang banged by the Rooks and Bish again.

The B17 were the work of us Sturmjaegers on squad night (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) was a lot of fun (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) hell even a couple of my squadies participated in the Lancaster jest. we had to do something on our long flight (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

This wasn't lost on me at the time. I knew if we had that many talkative guys thinking up puns, we must have many more bombers in the air. My available time was drawing to a close, so I decided to exit after killing yet another high Lanc (this one was a beaut though- engine coughed dead just as I nailed it, and I had to glide 2 sectors to the nearest field! For once I was glad I caught one at 30K. Brought it in for a perfect landing on the runway. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)).

BUG, shame on you for inserting a pun when the thread is about parody lanc names (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I have to call unauthorized use of pun and sentance you to 1 week in a C.205.
This whole thread inspired me when at the local video store. I picked up both "My name is lancaster" and "lancaster is still my name". Ah.. I love lancaster spagetti westerns.

LOL.. sorry I missed this one. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Sounds like yah all had a lanctastic time.
You fighter jocks fail to understand the lanconic tone of the lanctanic time investment required to get a lanc to lanctastic altitudes.. launches need to be scheduled in the previous time zone. Most pilots hang a calander over the ROC guage.
It takes a 109 about 9 min to grab to 30k.. a lanc gets there in 90 min if the cuddlinghunk lanc jock fergets the bombs. If he has eggs; he's up to 30k in 9 weeks. The lanc's so undergunned it's comical.. if yah let one get thru to yer HQ yah deserve to go blind fer the night. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
