Im so sorry. Hope you have a full recovery.
-
Sounds painful. Falling over on bikes can really hurt you. I have a couple of scars from tumbeling down dirt roads with my face first.
You are gonna sue thedriver right? You may be set for life!
-
neg, no suing. was completely my fault. besides, i could never bring myself to sue a scotsman (out of all the people in california i got hit by a scott:rofl )
-
Car vs Bicycle
Car wins:rolleyes:
Glad you are alright.
-
let's hope he doesn't sue you
-
Ouch... doesn't this put a wrench in your Navy plans?
-
mount one of these (http://www.dumpalink.com/media/1121689178) on your bike and fear no one

Smidsy,
didnt we tell u cars win all HOs vs ur bike? hehe
glad to see u made it, and hope u recover quickly.
-
Ouch. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
-
Smidsy, glad you're mending. Best of luck to you.
-
bad luck with the knee, rest of it doesnt look to bad...
-
Atleast it wasnt a dumbtruck.
From my Navy physical at MEPs I can say that any kind of injury to the knee is a HUGE wrench being thrown into the machinary.
Hope all goes well and you get better.

My Dad (CHP officer) escorted to the hospital a jogger who'd run out into traffic on a busy street and got himself run over, and as the jogger lay bleeding and screaming in pain waiting for treatment, the doctor decided it was more important to lecture my Dad about how joggers should have uber invulnerability code blue traffic right of way up to including the right to jump right in front of a stream of cars going (legally) 45 mph. When my Dad told the doc that he didn't have any vehicle code violation that he could possibly charge the driver with, the doctor went beserk and eventually filed a formal complaint against my Dad. 30 minutes later, the doc calmed down and went to work on the poor jogger who probably didn't care much about any future lawsuits right then.
Sometimes it's refreshing to see someone admit that an accident is their fault, and just let it go. I think that drivers certainly have an obligation to exercise care that goes beyond merely following laws simply because of the potentially lethal consequences, but in the absence of malice on the driver's part sometimes an accident is just an accident so let it go.
IMHO :)
Disclaimer - I haven't been hit by a car yet this decade so I'm in a generous mood...
-
good news! looks like there is no perminent dammage to the knee. but i still prolly wont be able to walk for about a week.
PS
the pain killers help (woke up screaming in pain this morning)

Sorry to hear of your accident.
On the upside.
Your telepathy seems to work fine:)
-
I think Smidsy is lying, and wtf were you doing riding at night? I TOTALLY blame you.
-
LMFAO a .22 cal MG.I want one :aok
-
Although I hope you get well soon, bikes on streets are very dangerous as you can see. It always seems I meet bikes, who refuse to stay inside the bike lanes, riding side by side, on a curve when other cars are coming from the opposite direction.
It makes driving drunk even more tricky.

I got hit by a car once, there wasn't a square inch on my back or butt that wasn't cut or bruised. I even had broken headlight glass in my butt cheek; I had a nice round scar for over a decade.
Get well Smidsy.
