Does anyone with a saitek x45 find that the throttle is too tight. It seems like it needs to be lossened a little. If anyone finds this and knows how to fix it please tell me.
-
Theres a screw in the bottom, to loosen and tighten the throttle.
The screw has a label "FRICTION" over it.
-
Duh....

yes, they can not survive a toss from a 2nd story window..
$58 at BestBuy after $20 rebate - use the rebate savings to buy the service plan so when it does give you trouble, you can exchange it, not toss it :)
for the money, you can not buy a better setup

DOH!

Now on my second X45, after returning the 8 month old first one to Best Buy because I didnt like the way the hat was reading inputs. The clerk had no idea what I was saying, wrote it down on the form, and handed me a brand new one.

Okay, sit and take notes... Class is in.
Buy a Saitek X45 and a 2 year warranty @ Best Buy.
In 6 Months call the "1 800" number on the warranty...yer X45 doesn't work. They will send a Post label for a Voucher.
In the mean time buy 1 more X45 *yeah ya cheap bastages* Buy 1 more with a 2 year *$9.00* warranty... if you ain't following me on this yet...please box up yer computer.
Every 6 Months you get a new x45 for $9.00.
Follow the Math...or upon special requests I can offer pictures.
You didn't hear this from me.
*Disclaimer*
I have only read this in a book from Russia many years ago.

this works as between compusa & bestbuy, I have been given a brand new X45 for about $10 a year about every 8 to 10 months for the last 5 years or since the X45 replaced my X36..
together with a set of USB CH Pro Peds, you get a fantastic hotass at a realistic price

1 MO time.
Follow closely.
Saitek...will....send...you.. ..a...new...stick...direct... from .....the...factory.
No added warranty expense.
No extra service fee, gimmicks or store ripoffs.
You don`t even have to donate to the little nose pickers coffee fund at the store.

yes but for only a year and you still have to wait for the replacement.. compusa used to le me store check the stick before I walked out with a brand new one. CompUsa less than 5 miles from home.
Bestbuy has you mail it off - pain.
-
The X-45 has a 2 year factory warranty.
I have had buttons go bad, e-mailed Saitek, told them what was up and that I didn`t want to be without a stick waiting on a replacement. I asked them to ship me a new one, then I would mail the used one back upon receiving the new one.
They paid shipping both ways.
Not too shabby. :0

I have one in the closet... had to get it when compusa stopped carrying the X45 and was replacing a bad trigger on the x45
tried it for about a month then got another x45 from circuit city online

you know you guys really didnt have to go into a talking spree. i found out my answer from the second post.

Yea, but look at all the useless info you would have missed otherwise. :)

I've had one for 3 years and I've had to take it apart nearly 10 times. If I'd have taken it to the store it'd have taken weeks or months to get a replacement, so I've always fixed it myself. Other than that it's a great value for your money.

I've replaced mine 3 times... well, the 3rd was already out of the box broken the same way as the 2nd.
Didn't take longer than 2 to 4 days :)
Besides by the law it can't take more than couple of weeks or so.
-
I had one; and it made a very good replacement for the Cougar which gave me no end of problems.
Replaced it with an X-52 which I'm very happy with.

i hate x52, the views get screwed up after a while. As long as you arent hard on the x45 it wont break.:rofl

i have been using mine for over 2 years (well only the throttle part for the last year now) and nothing wrong at all...
before that, i took one back to best buy because i dropped it, and broke it. walked out with another in 5 minutes.
