Title: Xargos...
Post by: AWMac on August 22, 2005, 07:47:46 PM
Today I received in the mail an envelope that touched my Heart deeply that I was brought to tears. The thought that this envelope came from a Family of this BBS.  It arrived at a time in my life that I really needed a reminder.

Between my Niece Tessa's death and trying to keep my Sister in Law Kim and my Niece Amanda together I've been tattered... Sometimes you can only be so strong...

The Company I work for is soon dead and will have mass layoffs in September. I was with worry. Worry not just for me but my Family, my Friends, my Life.  Like a Black cloud it wrapped itself around me.  I felt a loss so deep. The only words left were "WHY?"

Today I came home to an envelope.

Within this envelope was the answer that I needed to pick myself up again after going knees down.  It would be hard to place into words how much I was touched and I with all my heart want to thank you...words can not expressed the power I felt.

Attached to 7 cards were ribbons, ribbons of Love.

This is what was written:

                         "Ribbons of Love"

Each ribbon you see is prayed over.
                   Each weaved with loving care.
Each strand is to show you are precious,
                   and reminds you someone cares.

So when you receive this ribbon,
it's a tool to help you pray.
Take it out and hold it tightly.
                we recommend twice each day.

Even though I may not know you.
Even though you may not know me.
That's okay because He knows us both,
and He loves us both, you see.

So hold tight to this gentle reminder,
And remember He is holding you.
And know that someone prays continuously
for whatever you are going through.

I think this best illustrates why there is this thing called faith and why religion has existed, does exist, and most likely will always exist.
As a stanch Athiest, I would never want to see religion disappear. There's room for all of us.
Thanks for sharing AWMac :aok

I'm glad you liked them.:)   My mother (Alice), sister (Cynthia) and Miss Gayle have been making those cards and sending them to the soldiers overseas for the past year now.  My mother is the one who picked out the card "Welcome Home".

I once had a website built that had my moms oil paintings and my sisters poems on it but I am on dial-up now and building webpages with dial-up is too frustrating.  My mom and sister are both legally blind.  My sister is a teacher at a christian school and my mother donates some of her painting to the local schools so that they may hold lotteries as fund raisers.  I on the other hand haven't been to church in over 20 years but when I see someone suffering as much as you have I feel that something must be done.

Best of wishes and love to your family from the Ward family.
