Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, didn't see this post when it originally appeared, and our church was hosting a conference this weekend so I haven't had time to get online much at all.
I actually write two sermons a week, one for the morning service and one for the evening service. I'm currently going through the gospel according to Luke in the morning and Joshua in the evening.
Because my sermons are almost always expository rather than topical, I can't recall an actual sermon that was inspired by a discussion on the board, but I will freely admit that some of the discussions on the board have become sermon illustrations and even rabbit trails, in the same way that discussions with relatives or in the coffeehouse have also made their way into sermons. Illustrations and anecdotes are incredibly useful things when it comes to bringing a point or an idea "to life". And no I don't use names. Besides, they'd lock me up if I started saying things like, "As Dredlock was saying to Ack-Ack and Sandman before Skuzzy intervened... "
