These are pics of the storm we had last week here. One even shows the shuttle. We hardly get reain here and it's even a rarity to having thunder and lightning. FOr about 30 minutes the power was out yet the whole house was lit up by the electrical storm outside. Checkem out

I'm not sure what a quire storm is but this is my favorite.

this storm hit at 1130PM and this makes it look like daylight. These bolts were hitting like this about every 3 seconds. It was probably the biggest electrical storm I've ever seen.

Spectacular photos. We don't get many thunderstorms around here either. But yesterday there were a few CB's parading around the countryside. I was out and about when a lightning strike exactly like the last picture happened right in front of me, maybe 3 or 4 miles away.
The trouble was my view was out of the windscreen of a Cessna at 2000 feet:eek: I looked at my colleague beside me and quickly demonstrated a steep turn and a fast descent. We ran away, bravely.
Back at the airport it looked like a scene from an AH furball as aircraft converged from all directions to get in ahead of the storm.
I had my camera with me but the survival instinct won out. :(

That's EXACTLY what it reminded me of. Except the strikes were not in the same spot but it was intese and bright just like in the movie.

more accuratly it's the "moon with roads" The only thing that makes this place better than 29 palms is the fact that it's "close" to a major city (45 miles)

Wolf/Eagle,
I didn't take these picks they were taken by a friend at NASA

If you got time, ask what type of camera, lens, ASA and exposure combo he did.
