Heard this statement made on a radio talk show the other day (by a woman)
And it pointed out somehing I've frequently experianced but never quite realised before.
"There is something about a man doing nothing but relaxing that drives wives crazy. And not in a good way They simply cant stand to see a man doing nothing"
Think about it. And do you agree with this statement or not?

my wife has to create chores out of thin air if I relax. It usually starts the milisecond that my butt hits the chair or the couch. My favorite is when she yells at me for being on the computer on a lazy weekend or something and she's sitting on the computer playing here extreme solitare games.

Before I'da said TRUE, without a doubt. With the current, that would be FALSE. Not only does she not mind, she brings me drinks while I'm sittin in here flyin or watchin TV or whatever.

Better. I just married a Japanese woman this time. She comes home from work, she cooks, she cleans, she brings me a beer while I fly or surf the web or watch TV. On the weekends if we want to see a movie, I never have to worry about seeing a chick flick this week because we saw Die Hard 21 last week or some crazy stuff like that. As long as there is something I want to see, I can be guaranteed that she'll go see it and be happy about it. When weekends come where I want to hit the shooting range, she's helping me carry my stuff to the car and out to the range, packs the sunscreen I always forget, makes sure to have a cooler with Gatorade and water handy (because I forget).................
Basically she picks up all my slack and remembers all the things I forget and takes care of me because she enjoys doing it. How I got this lucky I'll never ever know, but I for one am not going to complain. I just do my best to never take it for granted, thank her as often as possible, and let her know how much I appreciate it. In return, I never have to feel guilty for being a man. I'd say thats a damn fine trade.

Im as lucky as you star. I come home from work, she asks me if I want to take a nap. then will get me a beer when I wake up. She loves to bar b que as much as me (almost everyday). Unfortunatly, I had to go through 4 years without a gf, and a 2 year dry spell.
Id say its worth it though.
and she happens to be very beautiful.

well DUH, my american mind was warped by the man-hater women i grew up with in the 80/90's
all i know is i am a flesh pile, and the woman's job is to put me in my place because i am worthless. whenever i do what my mother taught me, and open a door for a woman i get scolded and asked "what you think i can't open it on my own?!?!" :rolleyes:
WTFG on having a great relationship! :aok i hope you both are happy, and have a wonderful life most of us can only dream for :(

If I never see; nor hear, another super-sized, "Lets-talk-about-our-relationship," "I-am-woman-hear-me-roar," "What-do-you-mean-you're-going out-without-me?" "You-want-me-to-do-what?" western woman for the rest of my life, it will be too soon.

Definitely True. Also any physical labor not performed in there presence was actually goofing off and having a good time, not work.

Well I guess I trained my wifey well... beautiful Asian model. Dam
good cook, Suichi Chef. Wakes me in the morning, makes coffee, brings me a cup. Massages my back. Irons my clothes that I'm gonna wear for the day and hangs them in the bathroom. makes my breakfast and lunch. puts my shoes and socks on me. Makes sure I have everything I need for the day and puts an extra $10 - 15 Dollars in my wallet. Carries my Lunch and ice water to the Jeep.
Then she'll call me at work, once in the Morning and again in the Afternoon just to see how I'm doing and to tell me she loves me.
I'll come home from work and get a glass of wine, she knows I need some time to relax, so I go online to AH and kill a few Noobs. She calls me when dinner is ready.
She was a previous AirWarrior Widow so she knows the ropes when it comes to me and the game. No wife ack here.
Married now 25 years...still on our Honeymoon.
Guess I'm kinda spoiled.....naw.

true.. but only after they are comfortable around you... Most will pretend it doesn't bother them at first.
.they also do not mind you laying on the couch or in bed if they are doing the same thing at the time.
women of mexican decent do not seem to be as bad... White women can not abide laziness in anyone but themselves.

A lot of familiarity here. I was raised to take care of myself, and lived on my own for a long time and it would actually make me feel a bit uncomfortable having somebody take care of a lot of basic things.
But, she is a bit compulsive about cleaning. I am not a pig at all, and will pick up after myself, but if I let dishes sit in the sink after a meal for 24 hours it drives her crazy, and she ends up doing them. If I leave a cabinet door open WHILE cooking it drives her mad. She will clean up after making a meal before she eats. She also does most of the house cleaning and I take care of the outside stuff. She does more work by volume (which she notices), but the outside stuff and any carpentry/major maintenance type stuff (she is clueless here) would really kick her ass. We both work, and since I telecommute there is that angle too (sitting around at home all day).

My ex was lazy as they come and drove me mad as the house was always a tip full mainly of her junk.
My lovely new wife finds stuff to do but has no problem if I just want to relax. She gets on and does what she thinks needs to be done and I get on and do what I think needs to be done.
So I'd say false.

Yeah you nailed it. Not. For some reason, they are mad about us. They love everything American. Funniest thing I've ever seen, about 40 or 50 little Japanese guys dressed up like Cowboys doing fast draw and speed shooting competitions. Their sense of humor is a little different, but no less well developed. Biggest difference between modern Japanese and the WWII era variety? They have learned to laugh at themselves. I dont thnk they view anyone as inferior. Well, except the ones with the big egos. But those exist in every culture.

You couldn't do that show on in the US, you'd get sued.
Spike did one in Orlando once and it was so tame it just wasn't funny.

Hehehe, I have watched it. Funniest **** I've ever seen. Those guys are the biggest pervs. Its like they found Japanese versions of Cheech and Chong, only instead of getting high all the time and mellowing out, they are wired on Coke and Viagra.

But I try to establish a rule set.
Playing with kids is also a way out of mundane jobs.
I will handle all jobs that require Power Tools, the Car, the Basement, and the Garage, and all outside house work, gutters, roof, masonry etc.
I’ll toss in a little help in the Kitchen cook/clean so not to look like I’m not helping at all, I also do my own laundry so wife doesn’t have too, with two kids she dose laundry all day, then back to what I would rather being doing, building, organizing, etc.

From your previous posts, I've already concluded that you are a very lucky man. I remember you mentioning that she did not get angry if you looked at another women. All this, in a women who is your wife, who shares your passion, is so wonderful. It is very good that you realize that her "look" is shorthand for " I will cut your throat when you are asleep!"

My wife came home one day pissing and moaning about all the stuff I didnt do that she "asked" me to.
For some reason The thinks that when I occasionally take a day off just to catch up on paperwork or just have a day to myself that I really took off so that I could clean the house really really good. And she "Asks" me to.
Usually something like this.
"Oh you have off/are home today?
Good you can clean the house really good"
Now I dont mind helping out and doing my share. But I'm not gonna take a day off so that I can clean the house. Hell I'd rather have gone to work.
In any event. she came home "I thought you were going to clean the house like I "asked " you too
Dunno bout you guys but "Asking" to me sounds a bit nicer. And has the word "please" in it.
so she's moaning and groaning about this "sink full of dishes!" and how I could have at least done the "Sink full of dishes"
Sink full of dishes= 2 forks and a coffee cup

It's part of of a womans DNA. Even my female cats bittch at me when I'm doing nothing.
Get this.. my girlfriend stops by. I'm typing to you guys on the o'club. it's 11:00pm. She drops her purse by the door (where i always trip on it) heads for the kitchen, makes herself (and not me) a drink and comes back inta the living room and starts moving stuff on the coffee table. My stuff. I stop breifly, eyball her & raise an eyebrow, move the stuff back to where it was, go back to typing.
She then starts with: "look at this place. when's the last time you cleaned off this coffee table. and every single light is on in this place. don't you ever turn off a light when you leave a room? the ice bucket is empty. how come you never refill the ice cube trays. you could at least .."
at this point, i've stood up, gently cupped her elbow with my hand to get her up and we're walking towards the door.
."what?..."
I've opened the door, releived her of her (my) drink, replaced it with her purse and said... "I'm not domesicated. I'm not domesticatable. Which is why I live alone. I leave lights on because I pay the bills, I clean when I feel like it and refill the ice cube trays never because I don't use ice in my drinks, and we're both too old to have to suffer with PMS. g'night!"
She came back an hour later wearing an overcoat and nothing else. I may have won a victory for all mankind. Or, she just figured out that bittching at me is not how to get positive attention.
I did refill the ice bucket in the morning and emptied the ash tray in the living room. Call it the inventive hump rewards program.

No. Matter of fact, in some respects, a good sized portion of the Japanese population is just downright weird. :)
That said, they are mostly nice people, I was just rebutting your comment that they look down on us as inferior, when thats the furthest thing from true.
Now Hawaii...........if you want to see a real melting pot, come visit.

I think Hangtime may be onto something. Maybe what women who complain really want is more attention when they see their spouse lying around? Here is something to try as an experiment.
If you really are interested in not being active (i.e. really want to watch TV, etc), try being intimate with her. Maybe that is the reason she is grumpy to begin with? Of course if that idea is not appealing at the moment, there is always saying yes and then ignoring her. The latter approach must be used with caution.

star... so.. At one time they did but now they don't? What would you attrribute this change of attitude to? Them being less powerful today? Sorry... wouldn't want any jap to be in charge with power over me. I don't really trust their new found love of forieners. I seen their idea of rule over defeated nations... I have no reason to believe things have changed much.

Women are astounding creatures. They push and push and push. Then when you've finally reached the point where enough is enough and toss them. they either have two reactions. They leave, never to return. or they start doing backflips to make it up to you.
There is no inbetween.

I'd have to say false for all women, but true for most. The wife doesn't give me a list or anything like that but if i spend too much time playing games or sitting on the couch she gets a little moody.
