For some reason, most singers from Europe I've heard try not to sing with an obvious accent. I don't know why, but its just an observation I've made.

Well compared to the rest of the junk on tv its worth it. After seeing everything on the military channel and the history channel is doing the history of rubber.

The Beetles didn't have an accent!!!!! You what?????
You guys should listen to a bit more English music, maybe you'd pick up the accent thing.
Funny how English actors can do real good American accents, Band of brothers proved that one. Yet Hollywierd's finest are pretty carp at trying to do an English accent. Maybe thats the way it was with these rock wannabes. I qualify that Miss Jolie did a pretty good English accent in Tomb Raider. But most of the rest are rurbish.

The rain in Spain fall mainly on the plain.
The two worst southern accents I have ever heard came from two of the best actors Kenneth Branagh and Gary Oldman

You dont know were the rules are posted?

Its not that I dont know the rules, where they are or try not to abide by them its that I just try and be a decent person. If the system (aka this bsb) degrades to a point where I can no longer function within a normal set of acceptable behavioral patterns then I just dont sweat it.
I suspect its the silly "avoiding the porfanity filter" rule. I used a perfectly normal word to substitute for another perfectly less than normal word.
Its rediculous really.

How about a new rule.......if you dont have anything sensible to say, dont say anything at all.

I've always thought the english sounded a bit southern and the southerners a bit english when they sing. I thought Tom Petty was a "bloke" for years, then found out he's from the Alabama gulf coast.
-
I saw Petty in 79.
Was a fine show at the Hec Ed Pavillion on the UW campus.
I loved his early music but he has whimped out in his old age.
When Stan Lynch got the boot I knew the heartbreakers were done for.
I have referred to the guy as Pom Tetty for years.
I also refer to Jon Bon Jovi as "Bon Jon Bovi"....for some strange reason this appeals to me.
