BOULTON PAUL P.92/2 - The Boulton Paul P.92 was a design to Specification F.I 1/37 for a large twin-engined three-seat long-range escort fighter with armament of four 20-mm cannon in a dorsal turret faired into the upper surface of the high wing. Two prototypes were ordered in March 1938, one with 1,760 hp Vulture Us and one with 2,055 hp Sabre Is, plus a third (with Vultures) ordered later, but all three were cancelled in May 1940 when construc-tion had only just begun. A half-scale flying model of the design was authorised for con-struction in May 1939 as the Boulton Paul P.92/2 (V3142) and was built under contract to BP by Heston Aircraft (with that company's type number JA.8), making its first flight in the Spring of 1940 powered by two 130 hp Gipsy Major Us.
Max speed, 152 mph (245 km/h). Gross weight, 2,778 Ib (1,261 kg). Span, 33ft 1'h in (10.10m). Length, 27ft 6 in (8.38 m)

Well done that man :)

Boulton Paul must have gone out of business purely for want of a style manager.
Seriously, did they make ANYTHING that at least looked halfway nice?

I think that the defiant was a nice looking aircraft

Maybe if you removed that wart behind its head....
-
like this? it looks like a cross between a Hurricane and a Spitfire
(http://aeroflt.users.netlink.co.uk/types/uk/boulton_paul/defiant/defiant-bpa4.jpg)
although i still think it looks good even with the turret, the connecting bit behind the turret to the tail automatically retracted.

The guns can actually be pointed straight ahead (although i doubt it had interruptor gear fitted to the guns so would probably smash the prop)
