I dunno, Gandhi did a pretty good job by making a fool of himself, eh?
That letter is full of flawed arguments.
Having said that, I could care less about the whole issue.

So what was the reason for going to war again?
What has to be be acomplished to "win" this particular war?
When does everyone think that this particular war will be won (or lost)?
What has the cost so far been in deaths on both sides, wounded and $ cost - what has been achieved and if what is know today was known two years ago should America have followed the same path?

"More than once Gandhi used fasting to impress upon others the need to be nonviolent. India was granted independence in 1947, and partitioned into India and Pakistan. Rioting between Hindus and Muslims followed. Gandhi had been an advocate for a united India where Hindus and Muslims lived together in peace.
On January 13, 1948, at the age of 78, he began a fast with the purpose of stopping the bloodshed. After 5 days the opposing leaders pledged to stop the fighting and Gandhi broke his fast. Twelve days later a Hindu fanatic, Nathuram Godse who opposed his program of tolerance for all creeds and religion assassinated him"
Yea he won their independace. But the fighting still rages.
so I would say he was only semi successful.
It always interests me when people post a reply and then say "They could care less" about a particular issue.
If you "could care less" why did you bother to respond at all?
Or were you yourself "trolling" for a responce?

the main issue i could care less about. i found amusing the flawed arguments used.
or simply put, it was the argument presentation i found of interest, rather than the issue itself being argued.

Ok, that's it. It started bad, and fell right into the gutter quickly.
