Title: People in S Cal. should be afraid - very afraid.....
Post by: Sparks on August 28, 2005, 07:48:03 PM
Today I, Sparks, traveling Brit of the shires, partook of formal gun lessons in Orange county - the whole bit, classroom, safety video, dry firing and then 2 hours in the range.

Man it was FUN !!!

OK it's no big deal for you guys here in the US but for me it was a neat experience. Decided if I was gong to do it I would do it right so had a proper course.  Shot a 4" 357, 2" 357, Beretta 9mm and a Glock 9mm.  My arm was knackered afterwards.

I'd be willing to guess you're going to have your target framed?

Target framed ? me ?? nah...... well ........

I just won't tell the immigration folks Gun :) .

Seriously it was intimidating first but the training turned that into respect and more confidence.

Glad you enjoyed it Sparks. It's a thing you can't understand unless you've done it. :D

Careful... someone might consider the gun issue little more than a manhood issue.

It's a gun, not a noodle extension. ;)

WTG Sparks, you have taken those first precious steps into manhood. Kinda like your first kiss of a lovely young lass.

Now, if you want to experience what sex with a nympho is like, go fire a full auto weapon.

However, if you handle one improperly you might have the need for a noodle extension.

soo... while you had the gun... how did you keep yourself from going berserk and shooting everyone?

How did you like the 4" Smith?   Nice little revolver eh?

I guess now you know why people like yourself and all the others around you that day can't be trusted to have firearms.

Sparks...do you support free access to firearms in the UK now?

I go shooting when I'm in the US...kind of a "When in Rome" thing.  But...I still don't want them to be freely available here.

Your thoughts?

but you both... no matter what... would support your right to do what you did....somewhere?

Did either of you feel frieghtened that all those gun owners might start shooting at you?   Did you see anthing at all about your shooting experiance that you felt was worth banning because of the inherant danger?  If so... you need to rethink your part in it.

I've told you many times that if it meant THAT much to me I could shoot here.  It would just mean joining a club.  In the US any old codger can walk into a range and shoot guns.

Shooting at a range is also MUCH different to having the ability to walk around with a gun.

I've seen nothing that has frightened me at a range...although I did have to yell at a guy to stop waving his gun around and keep it downrange once in Arizona.  I have read about Mr. Fish's recent experience though (over at the FDB site).  THAT scared me a bit....it certianly scared him.

In Spark's defense, he did shoot a snubnose 357...not a very
impressive specimen of unit extension :lol
