Title: Something besides church's to check for
Post by: apatwinguy on August 29, 2005, 04:13:14 AM
Since the Colt 45. has been made functional, we have hade some pretty cool uses for it, "taking down a lone soft gun, Killing plane on runway, etc etc" but a new tactic has come to my attention that has taken it a step further, killing troops that are just entering the map room.  Now I'm not saying that its a bad thing, "I might even try it myself" but to fight for a base take for hours and hours, and for it to b thwarted by a lone, or multiple gunmen, is to say the least, frustrating.  So for any country thats about to take a base, make absolutly sure you gun or bomb that maproom b for troops go in, and u should b :aok  for the take.

Good point.  Hey, didn't paratroopers have guns and a gernade or two.  Maybe the troops need to have some live ammo to fight back.  That would take care of the problem.

I like it, it adds another dimention to the gameplay.  Just have a friendly fighter straffe the maproom or hose it down from your M3 before dropping the troops.

I think it is great.  I can imagine someone hiding out, hearing the M3 approaching, hoping noone sees him standing there with his .45.  He can see the M3, but does the M3 see him?  Maybe the M3 is not paying attention.  Waiting for the first troop, and poping him (gangsta style with the sideways grip).  Then the M3 notices.  Pulls forward and hoses him down like bird tur_.  Pretty amusing to me.

I dont have to imagine it. I've done it.
I like the option. Typically the counter to that now is to  call for someone to drop an extra Egg on the Maproom prior to letting troops run just in case there are any insurgents in there.:)

I think its a good idea though. wouldnt minds seeing more in the way of armed troops at the towns.

Often IRL bombing a town actually made it easier to defend as the ruins  and debri made for more hiding places and made it more difficult for attacking GVS to move around in

Uhh.....this is not a new tactic, I did it the first night the .45 was made useable.

The Knight Horde trying to take the base could not figure out why it didnt work. 999000 was at the same base helping me defend and we were ROFL at the whole situation. :)
