Is it reversed?
I collided with any enemy online and got the message "Wilbus has collided in you". Shouldn't it be the *other* pilots name there?
-
I got the same thing last night and thought it abit odd that I'd collided with myself, talented but odd.
-
Probley not, Now there tattle telling on you, ----- Is this saying whos fault it is? --------- Both rammer and ramme get same message? or both get told they rammed?
All this will do is start up more bs between players. It was bad enough when you had to assume you were rammed. I can see it now on ch200, oh and the pm's now should be great to deal with.
The ch200 whiners just got a boost from this message being implicated. It might as well say: system (name here) has just rammed your arse, let the whines begin.
Change all of them now..... you just got bombed by..... you just got a proxie kill from...... Trees just killed your arse...... Trees just flipped you over..... your tiger rounds just bounced off that m3...... so on so on...... you just missed all the hangers your bombing sucks...... funny stuff :0

Both sides get same message wilbus. It just uses private channel from your FE hence it is echoed back.

Won't the message just tell the person who got rammed that he got rammed without giving him damage?
I mean if the ram happened only in the opposite F.E. then you'd just get a message 'player x rammed you' and you see him go poof, right?
-
Correct Siaf:
But do to the current sceam, the person who collided also gets an echo of that message, just like if you typed on private channel.

Ok... so both get message that they collided with them selves but only the one who rammed on his FE gets dammage like normal?
-
Willbus, due to the fact I needed new host message to handle it correctly, but couldn't put that message in in this test version , view it like this.
You just collided with another guy. He didn't collide.
You then sent a message to him that Wilbus has collided with you via private message.
Note: you would also see that message you just typed echoed in the buffer.
Thats why you saw the message that you collided, under final system you would only see the message if someone else detected a collision with you.

what happens if the player is pinged once by someone else then collides with you.
do you still get the collision message?
-
"do" != "due"
Sorry, just see too many people making this mistake.

So, no whining on 200 then. The message states who initiated the ram and whos FEs fault it is, and the inocent fly away, right?
Could lead to lag whinnig though

Ok sounds good, thanks for explaining :)
-
HT, will those who are rammed still get the credit for the kill, or is the collision now like crashing or being killed by ack (meaning in some scenarios, you die without another player getting credit on the buffer)?
-
I think that the only difference is this new collision message. Scoring etc. remains the same. The purpose is that now you'll see also those rams you "win".
-
Nevermind, got in a situation where the other guy collided. Got the host PM almost immediately, then a kill message a few seconds later (he'd lost a wing in the 'collision'). Question answered.

NubOnFire, you will not get the kill if someone else had bulets in him and all you did was mess up your lame HO attempt and crash into him or if you were at 30K again. Yes 30K is beyond the proxy kill buble so NO KILL FO YOU!!!!
:rofl

okayyyyyyyyyyy..errr so when arnold went back though time than he actually went to the future...uhh...?

Definitely a good idea -- but will it will cut down on the whiney "collision threads"?
-
I kinda liked the message and had to chuckle at it but..... Yesterday myself and a 190 or 109 (I don't remember what one it was) ended up in a head on situation, neither one of us pulled off and we colided I get the message FLAYDone colided with you. Now if I'm getting this right this means it was my fault?? and if so how is this determened in a situation like this?
In a mutual HO situation when neither one of the partisipants turn away how is it decided who ramed who?
Personally if I was the other guy HOing my YAK-9T I would have turned away :D I wouldn't like to be staring down the barrel of a 37mm. :)
But what ever I was still chuckleing about it.
Hmm I just saw the colision thread.... Sooo this was my fault?? and I smacked into a plane that wasn't actually there??? :lol
Like someone said in that other thread.... My brain hurts. :D
-
I personally love the msg. keeps me from goin on ch 200 and blaming someone for a ram that was my fault :)
-
Ha! Still might not be your fault,.... YOU just got caught! :p
-
You know, I still don't get it...
Player A and Player B ram each other...
Player A sees "Player A just rammed you"
Player B sees "Player B just rammed you"
Or.......... Do both see "Player A just rammed you" (assuming he caused the ram)?
If the former, I don't need a message telling me I was rammed or rammed someone else.
-
I got my first collision mesage last night........... and now I am confused, (easily done:) )
Bounced a P47 heavily sprayed him from his 6 nearly rear ended him but jinked underneath to avoid collision. The P47 was mostly tailess and I pulled up after/ during the jink.
I had not collided..........there was no collision noise or damage.
The PM was "You have collided with YUCCA" followed by a system kill message on YUCCA (he exploded).
So had this message come from YUCCA's FE?
You see I had not collided with YUCCA even if he had collided with me. I assume that my pull up brought me thru his ac on his FE. Hence his FE saw a collision.
If so should it not be
"YUCCA has collided with you"?
or to reduce confusion if mirrored on YUCCA's FE could it be
"YUCCA sufferred collision" or "YUCCA had a collision"
The fact that the other party recieves this is enough to show that he was the "other party" in YUCCA's accident.
-
"YUCCA decides life is dull"
"YUCCA - famous last words"
"YUCCA finds aluminum tastes weird"
"YUCCA eats dash"
"YUCCA flies debris"
"YUCCA kissed your ass"
-
"YUCCA was killed from the little gremlins that got into his plane."
-
your tiger rounds just bounced off that m3
:rofl :rofl

HiTech, I'm curious about the collision detection now. I was attacking some bombers last night in a 190 with the 4 20mm loadout. Sprayed 1 wing heavily. bomber starts to break left, I roll right, get the debris sound (still blasting away at the right wing). As I pass, on my FE I appeared to be clear of his wing tip, but I get 4 or 5 collision messages in a row. Question being, did I hit his plane, or did I hit debris or a a wingtip after I'd shot it off?
Also, diving on an m16 in an il2. Heavily damaged, lose control, plow directly into him. 5 collision messages. Is this how it's intended to work, or is this a glitch?
-
Yes good question HUB. I was playing in H2H mode with my brother and my wife today and he plowed his plane into her Osty and they both got 6 messages saying that she had hit his plane LOL.:rofl
I would like to know how she plowed her Osty into his diving plane. Rocket boosters???

Seems like it's not working quite right. I like the idea of being told if you colided with someone so you arn't sitting there wondering how they got that impossible shot but the way it is I think it is causing a bit of confusion.
No big deal though I will just keep right on flying. :)

I ran into a P51 today and never got the message... what gives?
