Title: Something about the P51's fuel tanks

When in the P51, when you see that you're burning gas from the auxiliary tank, is that actually the fuselage tank?

Not sure, but you can hit "Shift F" to switch through the tanks.  Note the coloring of the wording.  If it's the color you started off on, it will automatically switch through the tanks for you.  If it's not, you'll have to do it by yourself.

I believe the auxiliary tank is located in the fuselage just behind the cockpit.  Pony pilots used to say that the plane could be a beast until that tank was drained because it affected the center of gravity.  It's modeled that way in AH, which is why it's advisable to take less than 100% internal fuel unless you really need it.

Yeah did the whole shift f thing already and all you get is auxillary, left wing, and right wing.  Which is why I'm guessing the auxillary tank is the fuselage tank.

If your not sure....empty the wing tanks, then do a reasonably steep dive....then try and pull out......:D

The evidence is quite convincing which tank is the evil one, just dont do it over a populated area.
