I'm sure Americans on the board know where and how to offer assistance to their fellow countrymen - it's not that easy when you live on the other side of the world - here's where you can help.

Good stuff Mukiwa.

We (me and the missus) have decied to donate, but we will wait abit until something is set up that will help on a long- term basis.

Looking for programmes that need cash for rebuilding or stuff like that so holler if any of you find any. Prolly wont find any such projects just yet tho.

As far as I could see the American Red Cross was the only one in the bunch that was "not" religious.

Any more non-religious organisations on that list?

The Penske Organisation in matching 100% of funds donated by it's employees up to the first 50k, then they are going to make an unspecified additional donation. All funds are going through the American Red Cross.

The United Way, Salvation Army, or any other well recognised charitable fund organisation is a good bet, but finding one that distances themselves from religious affiliation will be hard. Religious affiliation increases contributions.....go figure.
