I have cable connect to the internet. Im trying to download the patch, so I can be in KOTH later.
Says its going to take me 12 hours to download 28.2MB.
What the hell is going on here?
-
Oh good news, Now it says 8 days and 3 hours....
Guess I will see ya'll on the 18th of September, at 9:00pm CST.
-
LOL.
Do you know what WWW means?
World Wide Wait ;).
Skuzzy posted something about Katrina messing up the web, having most phone connects swiched to internet doesnt help as well.
I hope you make it till KOTH. Good luck :).
-
well look at the brightside....
-
Yeah, took me maybe 2 minutes to download the initial release of V2.05, so things are only getting worse?
-
ever try a download manager like GetRight that will split the file up and speed up the d/l time?
-
Alright this is what you need to do, first take a deep breath..... thats it now go over to the cable modem and reboot it. If that don't work we will see you in 8 days. :aok
-
Reboot as in, unplug, and plug back in after awhile?
-
You know what that means eh? One less tard on 200 for a few days! :rofl
-
Your little intardnet lingo is cute WindX, your reply kind of reminds of that nerd in the flash thing Tw9 posted.
I bet ladies are crawling all over you...
-

Use the Opera browser.
Resumable download manager included. :)
-
Use sneakers. Adidas nentwork, run to a friend with good connect, download and burn it, run back home and install. Usually faster than 8 days :))
-
Yeah I use Opera... Its pretty nice.
Well my connection is finally somewhat good... 1 minute to download now. ;)
Too bad it had to work, right before I have to get ready for work... :(
-
Alright, so I had this fubared connection earlier today, and when I thought the download was going smooth, then I drop down to another day for the remaining 20mb I had left to download...
SO, I decide to do a system restore, back to factory settings. Now my connection seems to be doing better, what could have caused this? and what should I do if it happens again?
-
I would check for spyware if I were you, do you have Microsoft's antispyware program installed, if not go to microsoft.com and download it and run a full spyware scan.
-
Well im running 6.6KB/s again, even after system restore to factory settings.
I don't know what the hell is going on here, but its not fun. I haven't been able to log on for the entire weekend. :(
-
There is a program called "hijack this" that you can run, it will show what is in the startup and other services that are running, you could then post that to the board and we could have a look at it but before that I would just run the Microsoft antispyware program that I mentioned in the above post.

A bit OT: Lazerr, you have an Intel graphics chip, right? I need to know what settings in the "Video Setup" you are using. You can PM them to me or email them.
Thanks in advance!
