Bill "Firewall" Wall a long time member of our online squad here, past away recently from a brave battle with cancer.
Bill was originally in our Warbirds Sqn 416 RCAF, and was with us since @1997, when we moved to form 880 Sqn FAA in AH, he came with us here. He flew in many of AHs events and the CT as well.
He was a fine fellow with a great sense of humour, and was a real WW2 aviation buff, like most of us are. A native of Melbourne Florida, USA, his father in law flew with the real 421 RCAF in WW2. He is survived by his wife.
We are all quite saddened by his departure, and we will miss him deeply.
God Bless Bill, you take care now.

ex 880 Sqn CO.

High Flight[/u]
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.[/size]
