Yet another reason why we should have the NUKE!
-
8 k in a set of 24's bet i coulda gotten 1/2 of them :D

See a prime example of taking out the fighter hangers and leaving the VH up.
-

LoL, it does look good though.

To me it looks like the vehicle hangar is down and only two fighter hanger is down. That puts us to 0 of 1 vh and 2 of 4 fighter hangers.
My guess is the vehicles were upped before the vh got hit, and the bombers hit one fighterhanger in the same pass. Wouldnt want to guess about the other fh.
So i would dare to say this is not an example for taking down fighterhangers and leaving the vh up. Ontop of it if the fighter hangars get destroyed 1 by 1 they usually pop back up shortly after the last one is destroyed wich makes it hard to effectively close the field.

Welcome to the
PAIN TRAIN!!
Thanks GHI! this is what LTAR is all about. Want to learn more about LTAR you can visit our web site at http://www.ltar.org
-
LMAO...every JABO pilots nightmare, the entire LTAR squad waiting for you in Osti's. :)
-
I dunno about that - looks kinda fun. Sorta like last week when the M16's had the killing power of the 20mm Phalanx and threw out about as many bullets. Just makes it more sporty and puckery.
-
Grits.. sorry dude! thats not the entire squad. the other half are using the cloking devise.. their there, you have to look a lot harder.
Here's a hint. if you drink a half rack of Fat Tire Beer you can see twice as many!:)

WTG on the pic ghi

But yall have it wrong, we're meerly there for humanitarian reasons only. We're all lined up to hand out water, food, beer, chips, and yes we still have a few concert tickets left.
SO COME ON DOWN (way down ) cause your the next contestant on the LTAR "PAIN TRAIN"

LOL, tell that to your enormous horde that died in droves over a76 for about 2 hours straight the other day. I'm sure Ghi remembers that one goon hunting in his 262:) Eventually we got sick of cleaning up all the aluminum scrap and decided to just take a75 and be done with it.
-
Ghi
Thanks;)
-
One pass at 10k with B-26's loaded with 100lbrs and I would kill most of them. Of course they all park on the runway so when they hear the bombs coming in they can tower out. Then again if the VH is destroyed and they can't re-up, mission accomplished.
-
GHI great pic
Cool pic but it just goes to show you how many Bish it takes to take out one good Knight.
you musta been one of those pilots that were brave enough to dive down for a vulch but never got the chance to pull back out:lol
-
High buffs you'll waste your bombs, we can hear them dropping remember. Tower out? I think not to gamey for us, everyone in AH knows we dig in and defend our own. But please do drop by, don't worry those are just signal flares to let ya know where the party is.:D

Ghi, I can typically be seen vulching in these types of conditions. I more often than not, land 4-5 kills on top of the fact.

Looks like most of the acks is up to!! I bet there are more LTARs in the manned ack!!! Ugggg

I gotta
ghi great pic man out-frikkin' standing. There seems to be some people talkin' smack:( I'm sorry you feel that way but there is a lesson to be learned "Don't try to vulch our fields and you'll live longer:D all seriousness aside it's great fun and though I don't vulch personally but if I did and saw the PAIN TRAIN:cool: I would have to think twice only cause I don't feel lucky. And for those of you who can be seen vulching in these conditions and land 4-5 kills please........ let me get my boots on. I am honored to call myself an LTAR because we have a purpose take yours defend ours, the bottom line have fun doin' it so guys and girls game on.
-
wanna know their only weakness?
wait till some some low buffs come in to bomb them, i promise you they will all turn for a second on these buffs.
this gives you about 5 seconds to drop from your corsair, and roll off the rockets.
after 6 seconds the buffs are gone and yu better not be within 2k off the nearest flak.
:D
-
tower out eh ..... not gamey .... get real you couldnt do that in a real war situation . why start now with that dweeby move. :rofl
just wait next time i get a decient location on ur pain train ... me and my 24's are going hunting ... u can run,, you can pray,,, but that wont save you .
(and beleive me ill film it so any tower out chickens will have there names up in lights)
Just a reminder what I do to gv's ....

One......we don't "Tower Out" just to land kills.....bad taste. We're fortunate we have squad members that don't really care about points. To "Tower Out", for points or kills score, would be the same as deserting your post during the heat of the battle, again bad taste....not to mention taking a chance of losing your squad patch.

Good for you, I agree dive bombing buff driver's are a %$@#@^&$ pain in my &^*&%$#&. I enjoy buffs, however I know the difference between a dive bomber and a strategic bomber. BTW have you met the LTAR Air Wing yet? he he, bring it on LOL. :aok

This sometimes is true. End result, 3 downed buffs, one dead Corsair and 10+ blood thursty Osties. Maybe if your lucky you even got an Ostie. 4 to 1 kill ratio. I can live with that. :D
Astrobuffs that think they can drop 47,000 lbs. of ords on a runway to kill "The Pain Train", or more often just one GV? LOLOL, Seen it coming, heard it coming, drove away 5 minutes before they got close.
I have been carpet bombed before. But not before killing 1 if not more buff. They need to let us up "Formations" of Ostwinds with 14,000 lbs. of whoop Arss each and see what happens. :rofl

The problem with you guys is, you're so good that you CAN brag about it : oldrolleyes:
-
Thank you Frank3.
. We appreciate that.
There are a lot of really good folks that play this game on all sides. We were just fortunate enough to get a darn good group together that are good in GVs and Buffs and a few that are really good sticks in anything that moves.
But we also practice a lot. To us, a good score is that 1.5 deflection shot. I would take that long before I took the number 1 Rank position. I know that that 1.5 deflection shot actually means something.
to all and thank you to the AH community.

Towering out huh.... that's about as honorable as camping a vh just to camp it not for supression but for points or sleepin with your best friends mom. So bring on your dive bombin Lanc's,24's or 26's I'll take my chances but know this if the vh is up I can come rite back out and shoot you in the pooper. Fare warning to all concerned an alliance is forming soon and there will be blood and air frames raining down from the heavens.

Roscoroo nice drop bud. I love it when those happen. More fun when ya get hit, up again, come back and level'em. The great thing about this post is it has brought more awareness to the cause. In AHI everyone laughed at the GVs now in AHII the first hanger to be dropped is the VH. Why? Because if you want to cap a field you can't do it with 3000 rounds flying up at you if you want to keep your base ya gotta watch for the GVs rolling into town and if ya want to land those troops off a CV you have to clear the shoreline. True enough we get dropped on by a lot of good sticks. As you will notice we throw up alot of
s. LTARs do appreciate skill. The reason for the pain train is to give our countries pilots a better chance to get off the runway and give them a chance to land with out the vulch. Us getting killed...doesn't really matter. Besides having Osties up, you have to have a plan of defense and angles and coordination of fire to make it all work. If you will notice we aren't always on the runway though. Why? Depends on what is coming to hit the base. Braging rights are yours Roscoroo, that is a great drop. I always hope to catch that many in one pass but it ain't happened yet for me. :furious to ya.
lasersailor184
Fear it? No, don't fear it we want ya to come on down and give us a good challenge it gets boring sitting on the ground and watching the fight at 5.0 away. Just be careful, that's all. :D

Skywolf your obviously one of those pilots that have learned over time how to avoid that nasty ole flack fire. There are a few pilots out there that have honed their skills in evasives to an impressive level of art work.
Totally amazes me when one of the few dance all around me, close up and personal, and I can't manage to get a hit, (he he) then get taken out
To those few , maybe ya can teach me how to remove the flack magnet out of my pants when I'm flying (UGH me flying........scary thought :rofl )

Yes, I appreciate the modesty...but there is a big difference. Avoiding one Osty and avoiding 10 Osties are two very different things. I did learn to stay the heck away from LTAR guarded fields, and even as good as you guys are at D2000 the bob and weave could work.
I'm just going to stick to my belief that if you get too close to 10 LTARS you are dead.... I don't care how good you are. It's the same as flying into a building. No matter how good you are.... you are still gonna go boom. I'm glad you left the Dark Side to become Bish.

Unfortunately, I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting the LTAR's, but I hear you really are experts at what you do; a great job in mastering the AA-vehicles to defend struggling bases
I always found aiming the Ostwind a great difficulty, a big to all the LTAR's who apperantly can't be beaten at this

Frank3, thanks for the kind words.
Osti is a great piece of equipment, takes a long time to master. Not unlike a plane ya got to consider your targets speed and distance, pull the trigger and hope you are right.
Of course our ace of aces is LTARmoil, our CO. He countinously amazes the squad with Otsi hits 2.5+ out, and in field ack range increases. But then he's been doing it since AH was born,...............hell as far as that goes he's older than some of the equipment we use..:rofl ...........Opps

I allow the other's with the "L337 Skillz" have the glory, and I stay under the radar. Ask Dadrabit or Hammy about my "honed Ostie days back in AH1".
We've had our share of tank duels MOIL. I know my capabilities in GV's and aircraft.

I've heard it was a lot easier to hit with the Osti in AH1 than AH2. True?

It's all in how you lead em. I really haven't found it tougher in AH2. I just got bored. I'll still hop in one and helpp defend a field with incoming toolshedders.

I have recently visited the website of the LTAR, I truly find them the most amazing squadron of Aces High, being able to hit a plane with the Ostwind from 2.5k+, something I claimed to be impossible before meeting the LTAR's!
It is a pleasure to see a squadron devoted to defending bases, something considered a unwanted job by others, but the LTAR has found a way to make this their speciality!
Once again, a truly amazing squadron
-
I hate Osties.
They kill me
I can't hit anything in it unless they come right at me, haven't got the patience to learn how to shoot with it.
I can't kill them, I have to get too close to hit them with bombs, rockets or guns.
They kill me
But frankly, normally Osties aren't that great a threat. But sometimes you see no tracers, hear nothing, everything is peaceful and then WHACK, your plane breaks in two. That would have been a good Osti driver.

I generally have the tracers off in an Osti as you can't see them from the Osti anyway, except a little at dusk.

Why yes I have. They tought me a good leason in killing. However, they had a few issues running back to their base once I made it off the runway :rofl
Whats up with that? Every time I meet the 'Air wing' its in on a pork, vulch, and run mission.
Cept that one guy that flies the SpitV. Looks like you guys have been recruiting some old dogs. WHO IS IT? I WANT HIS OLD NAME. YOU KNOW WHO I AM TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!1111:furious

Knock Knock guys
-
Issues running back to base? Is this before or after they have completed their mission?
I can see how some buff pilots might just fly around and bomb stuff, but in some squads, pilots have a specific mission and don't always have the time to loiter and wait for the furball to develop around them. It is kind of like; having an objective, being issued orders for a mission, completing your mission and returning to base for another assignment. WOW, what a concept.
"Every time I meet the 'Air wing' its in on a pork, vulch, and run mission."
I will see if I can get the buffs to just up and fly around for no reason other than attract fighters to shoot them down. :rofl
Pork, Vulch and Run. Lets look at this.
PORK = Destroy the ability for the enemy to up aircraft and vehicles that would shot me and my countryman down, thus limiting or prohibiting the liberation of the enemy base.
VULCH = Destroying enemy aircraft that are attempting to takeoff from and enemy field that would shot me and my countryman down, thus limiting or prohibiting the liberation of the enemy base.
RUN = Having taken the enemy base, going on to the next enemy base to liberate it. Or, if unsuccessful, returning to a friendly field to set up another mission or a different operational plan to liberate the enemy base.
Yup. You’re absolutely right. We do that.
SpitV? Old Name? You will have to be a little more specific than that. We all fly different planes at different times. Depends on what the mission goal is. What the situation is and what the opposition is sending in.
Heck, I have flown a SpitV and this is the name I have had for ages. I think I even saw LTARokit in a SpitV once. Scary :p

Comon now. This should be easy to answer. There is one of you thak can 'fly' the V. I didnot say I saw one of you in a spit :D Who is your best fighter pilot. I met an LTAR a few times in a V a couple of weeks ago, did not recognise his name, and he was flying like a fighter pilot (No HOs no running.) He was there to fight not for a succesfull mission of porking ord in Tyffiies (not buffs) and running back to the base :p
SPEAK!!! WHO IS IT!
-
We got a few new Team Members on our Squad that are exceptional sticks. LOL, I ain't one of them. I fly like sh. . . . Well, you get the idea.
LTARdrgn, LTARcnuk, LTARthrn. All of them are good fighter pilots and fairly new to the squad. It might have been one of them. But they would have to tell you if one of them were who you saw and what his old name was.
Sorry, no help.
