I would like to upgrade my power supply I am looking at this one
Here (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=50350436&pfp=SEARCH)
In my system, I dont know if it will fit or be compatiable how do i check... I have a Hp Pavilion a230n running Windows XP Home
The only thing hp will tell me is
"please don't take that Power supply as it will not work on your system, as your system needs power supply of 250 watts but the power supply which you showed me is of 400 watts, therefore please don't take that power supply."
Is this true... I thought you could upgrade it...?

It depends on if the original hp power supply and motherboard require custom wiring harnesses, or if the original power supply is a non-standard size.
The hp response is either clueless and incorrect, or they're trying to say that it's a non-standard power supply. I don't know which though.
I wouldn't go with comp-usa. I'd search on http://www.newegg.com and find one there.
