Screen freezes
During Optest4 testing i suffered the occasional screen freeze of about 30 secs. This usually wound up with me ded! Spoke to Skuzzy and he advised me to roll back my GFX driver to ver. 61.77. Have done this. Have an Nvidia GeForce Ti200, 64mb installed.
Since the new version patch was released all was well, excellent hike in FPS's, until last night!
Had been online for about 2 hours solid. Upped Lala's gv's etc. then when I upped a Hurri 2c the screen froze about 2 mins into flight, was on auto-takeoff, took it off banked left, looked left, froze! when unlocked had crashed.
Went back to an LA7, selected a non-default skin, all ok again?
System is spyware, virus free. Running only 18 processes during gameplay.
Cel 1.8ghz, 512mb RAM.
Will check the sound settings, but sure they aren't set too max (hard. accel.) also the AH2 cache and preload settings. Could this be a skin issue? Anyne else had similar happenings?

I'm having the same problem both in the MA and CT. About one minute into the flight, my screen (whole system really) freezes. I'm running:
1.3 GHz AMD Athlon processor
512 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (256MB) w/ Driver version 6.14.0010.7777 (dated 07/20/2005)
Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 2
Thanks,

Added another 512mb tonight, now running 1gb RAM.
preloaded ecerything into memory at video setup, no problem at all, no freezing no nothing.
left MA, unchecked pre-load skins, went back in, flew around in 110 for about 20 mins, on final approach banking right, looked right aswell screen froze completely. crashed into ground.
all times i have suffered with freeze i have had a non default skin on my kite.

Smiggy,
not meaning to hijack your thread, but just to add info so Skuzzy doesn't waste his time on me. I removed my new nvidia driver and installed the 61.77 last night and it cleared my problem up.
Tx,

I was going to say recon, all you needed was to go back to the 61.77 drivers. Smig should be using the same drivers as well.
-
Been on 61.77 since Skuzzy pointed this out about 2 weeks ago during Optest4 testing.
Think it may be associated with skins, may reduce textures from default 256 to 128 and see if that helps too.

Left textures at the default 256.
Drivers already at 61.77.
Preloaded everything into RAM.
No problem.
Played last night for about 2 hours, no freezes, hangs etc.
Only seems to happen if the pre-load skins isn't checked?
Weird!

Suffered the screen freeze again last night after 2 hours of play.
My RAM usage was 407mb of 1024mb.
Video RAM usage was 23mb of 64mb.
All textures and skins were preloaded.
Textures at default 256.
Sliders set to max. perf., ground detail slider set to just under 0 in 0.5.
Screen freeze occured in the air on shift f1 settings.
Nvidia drivers set at 61.77
Sound acceleration has remained unchanged.
Any ideas?
Have emailed too, am at work at mo so not able to send DXDIAG details.

Are you preloading to video memory? If so, disable it.
Also, check your in-game Variance and see if it is saw-toothing.
-
not pre-loading into video ram.
box is greyed out empty.
what are referring to with variance?
net connection etc etc?
if so will check tonight.
