Anyone a BIG Nebraska fan like myself?
How do you think they will do this year? Didn't look bad against Wake.:aok
-
I'm a die hard huskers fan don't get me wrong but my highschool football team could have beat wake forrest. (Millard North in Omaha BTW)
That's Nebraksa's biggest problem is their schedule. I caught a little of the game and they didn't look to bad otherwise. I hope they are good contenders this year.

It's good for you guys to live like the rest of the Big 8 lived for so long.
You'll enjoy it more when it comes back. ;)

Good Ol' OU is sucking it up this year. At least now the Big 12 will be competitive. :D

Well, I've lived here 16 years.. does that count?..lol
I enjoy watching them and appreciated the winning years.. but not into enough to ponder the samurai sword on the mantle on Sunday mornings after a home loss.
Actually got to see them in person for the first time last weekend ( Against Maine ). It was a little concerning that they insisted on passing when they were within 10 yards of the goal, but I guess that's how they get their experience.
Defense seems to be looking good. Offense needs work, but, what do you expect when *gasp* the term 'option' now means passing left or right or up the middle.. ::shudder::

Shoulda watched the OU game. We literally gave up passing in the 2nd half. We did 4 pass plays, 2 Bomar (QB) ran it instead of passing, and 2 he got sacked. There wasn't a pass thrown for 30 clock minutes by the OU offense. But hey, we got a running back. :(

I think that means you're not truly a Cornhusker fan yet.

I used to go to Elkhorn all the time. New alot of girls out there. I lived right off of dodge street in west O :aok

Ahh corn huskers lotion and farm ripened melons. Sweet memories.
Did I spell mamories right ?

I'm a diehard Husker fan. I was born 2.8 miles from the stadium and I bleed red N's. I even have a christmas card from Tom Osborne :D
How will they do this year? Only time will tell. Callahan has a big job rebuilding the entire program from the ground up after Solich let it slip into mediocrity with his pitiful recruiting. I do think they will make it to a bowl game this year and maybe even take the Big 12 North division.

How long ago? West O, nowadays is about 180th and Center.
Fact is,... the vile imperialist forces of Dark Lord Fahey just annexed Elkhorn. Go figure.. a 'city' with a population of less than 600,000.. and my bloody town hall is now 18 miles away.
Lunacy
Oh Geez.. sorry about that.. a bit off topic there. Back to football.. You did mean cornhusker Football.. I hear they have a pretty kick-ass women's volleyball team too... :)

LOL.. yeah.. Actually, I had an epiphany centered around such an event. I forget the exact game or the year, but I think right after I moved into Nebraska... 1988.. the Huskers were holding the current longest home game winning streak .. something like 40 or so. Not being 'converted' yet, when the eventual end to that streak finally happened, I did notice something particularly odd the next morning. The atmosphere was dead.
It was just plain WEIRD! I felt it was a bummer they lost the previous day, but it wasn't that big of deal to me..I mean.. I had just moved up from SC.. where the big teams were Clemson and Carolina.. heck. losing is almost second nature ( perilously close to rule #4??? )
I went outside.. it was quiet. Very hard to explain.. you could just sense it.. Anyway, after having experienced that.. kinda opened my eyes up to the observing the power of thought and the masses. Not wanting to get into a religious theme, I'll stop here.

I graduated from millard west in 96 and lived on 144th area of Dodge, went to millard north as well.
I can't beleive they finally anexed elkhorn. It was a long time coming, last time I went home (a year ago) was amazed at all the growth out west. Fields that were nothing more than fields for decades are now a "super bakers" or somthing.
Me and a buddy of mine almost got our tulips beat with bricks when we went to the fireman's dance our freshman year cause we were millard kids with elkhorn girls. :D

Lazerr, I'm a fan. My Grandfather played as an End (Now known as a Tight End) for the Huskers in 1918-1920. I still have his original Letterman Sweater in a display cabinet with his 1879 violin. Mom has his original leather helmut, she said she will add that to my display collection when her time comes.

Is Elkhorn close to Scottbluff? My grandparents use to live there, nice little town, quite enjoyable. Man it's expanding though. Huskers all the way! CU and CSU can.......die:)
-
The only debate is on 2nd best. SC three-peat, baaaby.

Go Penn State! 3-0 baby! Going all the way.

Close only if you're in a shuttle or SR71..lol .. ok.. maybe the IAS..
Only about 450 miles away.
Omaha has it on it's 2051 annexation schedule. Can't have them blocking westward expansion. < Insert really obscene rolly eyes here >

Living out in west Omaha I can attest to this. Omaha is moving west and a very RAPID pace. All the farm fields I grew up looking at are now $300K and up houses and super walmarts.
