Im looking to make a video...What I wanna do is mount a camera in the cockpit of my airplane and fly from Bridgeport-Keene NH....The flight is around 48 minutes....What Im thinking is speeding it up and putting a song to it...the song I'm looking at is 4:48 seconds....
here comes my questions...
1- is 48 minutes sped up to 4:48 gonna come out looking way to fast? I am gonna be choosing a good VFR day with a decent amount of clouds, cuz I think that would look awesome, but I dont know if its just gonna look way to fast to fit with the song...
2-Is there anyone on this forum who can help me? I dont know anything about video making, but if I were to send a copy of the recording and the song could anyone help me out?
thanks all

Depends all on what kind of song you want to use, where you're going to "take" the viewers ect.
Also that copy, id' imagine is going to be one HUGE file.
Mars and I are making one for the Pitts. Its at 18 gigs uncompressed right now and growing.

I once took a 3-hour event, which was filmed on 60min tape casette, and fast forwarded it to about 3 minutes. It was fast, but wasn't too fast. I say go with it, just try it out and make adjustments later.
Things to note: Some software doesn't like you editing things that fast. The NL station I was using didn't want to go past 200-300%. So what I did was put the tape in the deck and hit fast forward and import the FF stream (BAD! I know!! I knew the risk and I took it, the tape survived and I got the footage imported).
Then the thing was it was already FF, and I can make it even faster by telling the software to speed it up even more (i.e. if FF import is too long, that clip is in realtime and you can adjust playback speed in the timeline as if its a normal clip).

Just making a time compressed file of straight and level flight is enough to make you seasick :) I have a lot of just buzzing arounds, photo flights and some formation flying and when its on FFWD its not looking good. What you might want to do is take video of the entire flight from startup to shutdown and film as you go.
Have someone film you taxiing out, holding short and then taking off. A few shots in cruise of the neat things you always see. Other airplanes, landmarks and geographic figures, if you're rated then of you popping out on top of clouds. Then film the approach and landing sequence including shots of the airport as you approach, maneuvering to land and then finally landing.
I just spent some time goofing off with FS9 and made a Cessna Citation II Video. I will post it as soon as it is hosted and perhaps it will give you a few ideas.
Best of luck! I've been having a ball making movies and the like. Maybe I'll figure out how to get some amateur video I've taken of the girlfriend onto my computer and start a website :p

CAV...dude. If yr in Keen, you need to go 20 miles up the road to Jaffery Silver Ranch. Its a super***** to land at but the prize is there is a kickass ice cream place a bricks hurl from the runway. And a small is like something you get a full pint of Hagandatz at.
