I did like "house of 1000 corpses" but this movie out right sucked.......OK it had some good artistic/visual stuff in it and it tried to be a really good modern day B horror movie, but it sucked.
Rob Zombie just didn't do it right in this. It moved SLOOOOOOOWW through almost the whole movie. The begining looked promising but sitting through the middle to get to the end is a waist of time.
That's my review.....don't rent it wait for it on cable when you are so bored and wondering what could make you more bored

What is your secret?

Ahh Brown Sugar.
"Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields,
Sold in a market down in New Orleans.
Scarred old slaver know he’s doin’ alright.
Hear him whip the women just around midnight.
Ah brown sugar how come you taste so good
(a-ha) brown sugar, just like a young girl should
A-huh"
Ain't that something.
-
have you seen this movie? did you like it? If yes were you sober?
EDIT:
Yes that is somthing. It also adds to every BBQ sauce with a little bit of vinager.
-
Yeah I did see it and yes, I was sober.... I didn't like it. So okay, that's my review.

Imagine the Rolling Stones had never recorded that song... do you think there would be outrage if they did it today?

depends....and I'm being honest today.....if they were a band into politics or that just speaked out against bush......NO there'd be little outrage. Those that speak out against Bush seem to get a pass when it comes to "sensativity issues" again I'm being totaly honest here.
Otherwise some black group would complain and it would be news for a week and MAYBE tarnish their record.
sandy did you see this movie? It really did suck.

That song was the first song I ever played live in a band. Grade 7 sock hop. We did that song, plus Stairway to Heaven and a few ACDC songs. Got me laid for the first time. :)
Yeah Sandman. For sure.
Not because history is any different... History doesn't change. But because we do. It hits close to the bone now.

Not a chance. I don't believe for a second that Rob Zombie could write and direct a film that's anything more than B-movie trash.
Mr. Zombie want's to flex that self-indulgence muscle while Hollywood is hellbent to pander to the younger generation by basically polishing turds with the name of someone recognizable.

It had all the makings of a good classic "b type horror movie" but it just moved SOOOOO FRIGGEN SLOW. it sucked and was predictable.
-
Except the good classic B type horror movies were made 25+ years ago. :)
-
Rob Zombie's music is retarded, why should anyone expect a movie directed by him to be any good?
The Stones had a few good songs. Sympathy for the Devil, Satisfaction, 19th Nervous Breakdown, Angie, Jumping Jack Flash, It's Only Rock'n roll, a couple of others.

Yes and it would be a nice change of pace to see a good horror flich that didn't follow todays "rules" that could please today's crowds that looked and felt like a 70s horror flick. He failed miserable.
I liked zombies music and even liked "house of 1000 corpses" cause it felt like zombie but this movie fell so short on so many levels.

"You were still in school
When you had that fool
Who really messed your mind.
And after that you turned your back
On treating people kind.
On our first trip
I tried so hard to rearrange your mind.
But after while I realized you were disarranging mine."
not bad.

I listened to an interview with him on NPR, IIRC... his intent with "The Devil's Rejects" was not a horror film. I think he had Peckinpah and Tarantino in mind for this.

well he fail extremely miserably then. He didn't come close to either.

Hell... even John Carpenter can't make a decent classic-style horror movie anymore.
I'm not sure the problem is his. It might be us. We've outgrown that particular style.
-
***Spoiler alert***
The movie was kinda predictable and the Sheriff's death at the end was obvious from the 1st scene of the movie.
But at least Zombie choose some classic B movie favorite actors that I love.
Ken Foree - "Dawn of the Dead"
William Forsythe - "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead"
