Really starting to bug me.. what in hell is wrong with Americans lately?
Say somebody's looting, point out it's a black that did it... wallah, yer a racist.
Minus 10 PC points.
For 50 years the Pledge of Allegiance was good enough for all Americans.. now it ain't. Support the Pledge, lose another 10 PC points.
Put a swatstika on a an exact scale model airplane.. minus 50 PC points.
Fly a Confederate Flag.. well, you get the drift.
I'm about to the point where I'm gonna break every PC rule in the book, just fer spite; vengance and to remind all you wuzzzies that pay lip service to the knee jerk PC progandists out there that you have no right to decide for me what I can do, say, think or create simply because Ariana Huffington thinks it's not 'acceptable'.
Every time we cave in and allow the PC Pinheads brow beat our rights to free expression the Nanny State grow stronger.
Fight it. Live YOUR life.. not theirs.

Right on brother!
-
That was totally ga....homosexual of you. How dare you break the propagnadists rules!
-
Yup, PC talk is modern day thought control from the left. It's worse on campuses today were's education takes a back seat to correctness/diversity.
-
canuck political correctness?

Ya know... Ariana isn't exactly mainstream. You're going to have to go out of your way to be annoyed by her.

Everytime we hear "we need to have a discussion on (fill in the topic" you can bet the PC side will shout you down as, racist, sexist, homophobe, etc, etc. Whats the pont of discussion if it you can't bring up both sides of the argument.

Let's talk about today. She has her own blog on the 'net, and it is an extremely high traffic blog, with dozens of high profile guests. Actually, she and her blog are quoted now more than she ever was when she ran for governor.

Right on the money Hangtime. I've always hated the PC whiners. And the funny part is that most of them don't even agree with the stuff PC is trying to imply - they just follow it for the sake of it.
These people will need to realise that stuff doesn't go away if you quit talking about it.
-
yep... I break every PC rule I can but.... they are starting to add penalties...
I am going to a mandatory sexual harrassment class next month... the management get's a newsletter with "helpful hints" on how to be PC and sends it in the email to me... the implication is that I can be fired for not being PC...
While I doubt this... I don't really care as I am of retirement age anyway. Still... they are working on penalties.

Now there is a freedom you SHOULD be worried about lazs instead of weapons or seatbelts.
They're trying to control what you think, what you speak. Brainwash.

Not arguing your main point Hang, but I gotta point out that for over 60 years the Pledge was just fine with no "under God".
Adding it was the PC act of it's time and removing it would be going back with tradition.
-
it was added because at the time our prime enemy was communisim... and they were murerously supressing the church in their sphere's of influence. It was a 'policy' statement.. nothing more.
regardless, it's gotta stop somewhere.
During the course of my lifetime I've been a christian, an atheist and an agnostic.
I've taken the oath, made the pledge more times than i can count in that time. Know what? My dick has not fallen off, the heavens have not opened and no other signs or portends have appeared for my blasphemy in the use of 'under god'.

When did the minority become the majority in this country ??
I think it has more to do with, " who has more free time on there hands to gripe, picket, protest. This morning as I was driving to work I saw a large church group consisting of men, women, and a bunch of children, standing in the median of I20, in Alrington, TX a major highway, holding up abortion signs and protesting obviously. The police were there arresting some and dispersing it, but I only had 1 thought on this... Shouldn't these people be at work and shouldn't there children be in school ? And I started to think about all the people I see on TV holding up signs of protest and I came to the conclusion that 90% of these protestors are either housewives that have nuthin better to do, or just broke, lazy americans that would rather gripe about something than get a job to support there families, but these are the same people that are running our country, they are the voice of the american people because they are the only american people that have the time to stand around all day and get heard, its rediculous. They have turned this country into an episode of Oprah. What are the main issues today, its gay marriage, abortion, and the morning after pill, and now the pledge of allegiance lol...If regular working class americans not democrats or republicans but ordianry working class ppl were heard the issues would be different, it would all be about gas prices and cheaper taxes, in short America would no longer be a daytime show meant to entertain people who don't work... sorry for tha rant, when I see stuff like that it just pisses me off soooo bad
-
And some of them are professionally offended pot-stirrers, who make a living off "continuing to fight for ______". Those types conintually interpret everything in light of their pet issue, to keep their funds rolling in.
And yes, this pattern is used by all sorts of exploiters in teh national eye, including some whose issue is their religion.
My favorite  event recently was Harvard president Lawrence Summers' near miss public hanging for suggesting that it might be interesting to discuss eveidence suggesting that women might have cognitve strengths in different areas than men. He was at a symposium whose entire purpose was exploring new areas of thought -- and he didnt come out for or against the question. he almost lost hsi job, and had to humbly apologize repeatedly. One student protestor's argument was "I didnt feel empowered when I heard what he said."
And this is supposed to be one of the best instituions of higher learning in the world? Sheesh.

See Rule #4
-
ripley... I treat all threats against my freedoms seriously.... It seems to me tho that some fear freedom...
they may want the freedom to smoke pot say but want to be regulated (and have everyone else regulated) in every other facet of their lives...
those who would want free speech but want to take away any chance of defending it are insane.

Not quite, it was a response to the so called 'Godless Communists". It was inacted along with 'in God we trust' being adopted as the National Slogan.
But the point is no one is forces to resite the pledge and there is no punishment for not doing so. You can't really say that about not supporting the PC rules in most Campuses today.

Quite accurate there Ice.
The KGB had a name for these people. They called them the "Usefull Idiots".
Most of them on the left are still blissfully indoctrinated. The religious zelots are no different.

Kind of like how night time got taken away?

"useful idiots" I like that lol thats great, best way to describe them... just drove by there and I guess the police arrested them all, there all gone now, wtg Arlington police if so... hopefully they get put on a work detail, or are given communitty service so they can see what work is really like. What really was irritating was looking at all the kids that were there, 8 and 9 year old kids standing in the median of a busy highway protesting and holding signs that they have no clue what it is saying... 1st off those parents should be arrested for child endangerment for letting there kids stand in a median of a highway, and then truency for not having them in school... Back in the 70's 80's we had protestors, nobody really cared about them we just called them "stupid hippy's" and everybody scoffed at them, now they are basically running the country, its getting rediculous

I've yet to see her bloq quoted anywhere. As to the number of visitors to her site, that was my point. You have to go out of your way to get her opinion.
That is, unless you listen to NPR's "Left, Right and Center".
Then again, NPR isn't exactly mainstream either.
