I was reading some article (maybe from Russia?) and says that their population will be less than 100 million in 50 years... thats if the "trends" continue, like binge drinking, stress, big-time freak accidents, and wild orgy sex session which results to AIDS:eek:

They do, and my Mother said that Aeroflot this days is much better, comfortable and has better food that any foreign airline she flew.
It's no surprise that their main aircrafts, IL-96s, are now grounded for some strange "gear brake possible malfunction". I love modern capitalistic competition.

AIDS is a problem in ports like Kaliningrad.
The main problem is that our "beloved Party and Government" follows ideas of Zbignew Brzezinsky, who said that Russian population should be reduced to 30 million that's enough to maintail oil-fields and pipelines. Everyday I feel that government prefers me to die or maybe disappear, so they'll not have to pay their $50 for a funeral.

boroda you make it sound like the average russian is not able to take good care of himself and have a worthwhile life.
Is it really like this?

I post here and I am still alive and having fun.
The problem is that I am a "useless trash" in terms of our government, I work in Academy of Science and my salary is two time less then survival minimum, even if we exclude rent, tobacco and booze. Next time they'll definetly try DDT dust against us.
We are all specialists in an art of survival. That's why our "beloved Party and Government" hates us so much :D

Nothing funny. :cry :D
I need to find a book by Dale Carnegie, something like "How to quit drinking and start to do something".
Try http://www.exile.ru if you want a source for an English-speaking ex-pat life in Russia. At least I find their "mustard plaster" quite funny and true when it comes to our life not concerning politics. I always get a copy in bars and clubs when I get there (I now lost the feeling of fun in that places, so this occasions became more and more rare)...

Flew Aeroflot out of LAX first time going over. Their food was holy **** good!

Try Southwest or NW and they'll just give you a bag of peanuts and water! Pillows are not even provided:furious

Don't get stuck in that 3rd phase of acceptance, but refusal to solve your problem. You need to take that extra step.....

The IL96's were grounded after Putins personal one had a failure.
So much for capitalist conspiracy.

Boroda, what is it you do exactly? Could you leave Russia and get a good job in another country?
Maybe you could move to the US, or someplace like it, and be more in charge of your own destiny.

We'll easily last until 2008 when we can elect another retard. I bet the next retard to win will be a Democrat. It's their turn.

Russia goin to be extinct???
I thought it had been for quite some time.

We can be sure that republicans have done everything to not to be reelected, but who knows?

Thats actually pretty true..
Has happened few times in Finland, luckily just becoming an extended rollout (russian airlines, we don't have IL's).
You might be an atomic expert, but you don't seem to be an aircraft expert.
Although, everything is possible in Russia.. it's just that the western world prefers higher level of expertise.

That's true. But you can never underestimate the ability of the Democrat retards to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Last two elections case in point... they couldn't even find anyone that could beat Bush for pete's sake.... TWICE.
What incredible level of retardation is THAT? Does the retardation meter even go that high?

I work in an IT department of a big academic institute.
1) I am too lazy. It's no problem to find a job where I'll get 5-10 times more money, but I'll have to work from 9 to 6. I don't think I'll do anything in this direction untill a roasted rooster will peck my ass.
2) My Father is 78 years old, and I am not going to leave him alone. My Mother lives in Australia for 10 years now.

So do I. ;)
Russia's Aeroflot May Buy 22 Boeing Planes for $2.5B
Vedomosti quoted sources at Aeroflot as saying that the company had decided in favor of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Aeroflot Deputy General Director Lev Koshlyakov told Reuters that the company had chosen between Boeing and Airbus.
"If everything goes well, the contract will be signed before the end of March," he said, but declined to elaborate.
Boeing spokesman Randy Harrison confirmed that the Chicago-based aircraft manufacturer has been in talks with Aeroflot "for some time," but declined comment on the status of the negotiations, saying Boeing always leaves any order announcement up to its customers.
Kommersant quoted sources at the company as saying Aeroflot had recently amended the tender and could buy as many as 28 aircraft instead of 22.
Aeroflot's Deputy General Director Igor Desyatnichenko said in October that the company would decide soon on the type of long-haul aircraft it wanted to acquire from 2009: the Boeing 787 or Airbus A350.

LOL how dare you resurect this dead thread:eek:
btw does Russian Federation allow immigration? Imo R.F.'s population problem can be remedied if they open immigration to C.I.S. clients (Commonwealth of Independent States, is this Eastern European version of EU?), Western Europe, China, and other South East Asia countries.
-
In the Soviet Union times they welcomed immigrants.
Well, then they proceeded to put them to hard labour, confescate their passports and force them under party control. There was no going back - and if someone tried the leftover family had some gulag party time.
Only a few of the idealists who went to build the 'workers paradise' managed to escape. Most were forced to stay - in the 90's the reporters managed to interview a few of the elderly people who got entraped. They were bitter as ****. But after 60-70 years living in the system they already spoke russian as the second language and succumbed to their lifestyle. Bitter and heartbroken, it was all they had left.

The main reason is that Boeing is approved for flights in EU and USA. And Tu, at least 154 and 134 are denied. The problem is in noise abatement rules.

So why don't they catch up with 21st century (actually 20th century) technology and upgrade those engines?

Commonwealth is an almost-dead organisation. It's like British Commonwealth. Border rules are defined with every member separately.
When I go to Ukraine I only need my internal passport, with Georgia I need a foreign passport and visa.
Russian migration laws became quite strict 2-3 years ago. In Msk additional restrictions are used, like "registration" if you stay for more then 3 days. It's all only a reason for our beloved government to leech money from visitors.
Every week we have hundreeds of illigal migrants deported from Moscow. We have the same problem as Europe. We need agricultural workers to live in villages, but all immigrants go to Moscow to sell flowers, drugs and if they don't - they simply rob people in the street, because everyone knows how rich we, Muscovites, are...
