I put my new computer and didn't have a lick of problems, until now....
I came home this morning and my flat screen monitor is flashing and the screen goes from the display to blackness. I tried changing refresh settings, but it didn't seem to help at all.
I have a 6800 PCI Express vid card, it's temp is 58c currently.
Any ideas? I have a feeling it is the monitor going bad, but I'l like some advice.

check that the monitor plug is not loose. If its not plugged in correctly (ie sitting in the port on a slight angle) then it can look like the video card has shat its self
Good luck

i don't use nvidea cards but isn't that a little hot?

Sounds like the problem I had where my when certain things were on the screen, my LCD monitor would continually flash from the display to stand-by mode. Changing the refresh rate from 75hz to 60 hz fixed it.

yea, make damm sure yer refresh rate is supported by your monitor. If your not careful, you can select a 'non supported by yer moniter refresh rate.'

This is an old thread, but here goes...
Turns out I should of listened to everyone that said 'Don't buy PNY', the 6800 card actually died less than a week from purchase.
I ended up buying a BFG 7800 and I'm living happily ever after.

It's odd that BFG and Nvidia are venturing into the mobo area. I wonder if there are certain similarities in making high end video cards and in making mobos?
