Ok i had been getting wierd reboots and discos from my network on my office PC. I started looking thru what might be the cause.
well running XP Pro its got to be hard ware related right!
so i check out my voltage rails from the PSU and they are outta whack, not the best but not the worst. I assume it the PSU and order a new one. i was going out of town for a week and figured ild play withit when i got back.
While out of town my boss forgot his wireless adaptor for his laptop and that was the only way we could connect at the hotel we were at. So i picked up a LINKSYS -B/G adaptor(USB)
well when we get back to the office i figure hey ill check and see if the new adaptor works any better than the one i had.
had Linksys wireles B/G USB with SPEEDBOOSTER - hahahahaha
model WUSB54GS Version 1 (the is no version # so i asume it was 1)
.
new one Linksys (same with out speed booster)
model WUSB54G Version 4
Kicker is it solved all the reboot problems and disco probs ive been having.
So now i got a nice 500W Antec Smartpower 2.0 sitting on the floor. Ill eventuallu put it in but i couldnt believe that that DAMN USB wirless adaptor would cause that much trouble in my system!~

USB is actually a quite common source of problems. Especially when it comes to power issues. Even more especially when it comes to using it for connection to your router. Skuzzy has a sticky saying not to use USB routers because of the unreliable connections.

Ya know i really need to get a PCI wireless card with - B/G capability! but Damn to see that totally blew my mind! i guess sometimes its the little thing that can really confuse you!

Rule number one: Do not use wireless to play AH.
Jeez no wonder we see all those 'warp masters' flying around.

What you really need is a LAN card and a WIRE. USB is bad, adding wireless compounds the problem. I have yet to see a rock solid wireless router (for gaming anyway).

So, you mean you're hijacking your connection from somewhere else? :lol
If not, there's a wire coming out of your wall somewhere and you just need to hook it to a modem or wired router.
My dad was crazy enough to use a 100 ft underground LAN cable because he didn't like the wireless. :rofl

No fool in not hijacking any thing. 1st things 1st. Where im at, in the mountians of Western NC i barely get DSL (at the slowest speed) at the house which is the temporary office. Im backin the furnace room in the basement on a concrete slab no chancing in hell, Dad wont let me run wire from here to his offin thru the cieling and downinto his office where the Router is. So im stuck.
in a month or 2 our new office will be up and running with the whole house wired for LAN Jacks in every room. On a Fiber Optic connection,
