Saw that the hurricane has now buffed up to the max-level 5th class, and Texans are evacuating.
Hope the HTC offices are ok.
If not, hope you guys have a safe evacuation.
-
I was thinking the same thing lol..
Lets hope nothing reaches htc and nobody is hurt in this one.

It'll be a downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it gets up here. We may have some power outages but hopefully nothing serious and not for long.
There is a high probability that even if we aren't directly affected through power outages, intenet traffic into us may be down. We're preparing as best as we can to minimize the potential of any service outages, but there are many contingencies that we cannot do anything about.
-
Good luck Pyro and all you guys/gals at HTC.
-
My folks are in McKinney just east of HTC in Grapevine. Sounds like it's turning a lil more to the east. Watch out for tornadoes gang!

Maybe you guys should have a hotsite in Calgary Alberta? I mean, it's in the middle of no-where. It's a large city (for Canada - 1.2mil). It has amazing internet infrastructure. And it gives you an excuse every year to visit the city during the Calgary Stampede. :aok

Isnt Fed-Ex faster?

For those that don't get it, and just to rebut the silly ones, UPS = Uninterruptable Power Supply. Battery backup, generators, etc.
-
Wishing everyone at HTC the best. Hopefully this hurricane won't be as bad as everyone is fearing. Stay safe and keep us informed- if you can.... Good luck!

Me neither.
For those not familar with the terminology like our friend AWMac a UPS is a Uninterruptable Power Supply as previously stated by Krusty. :rofl
What I meant was if the lights go out (outage) will the game server remain on due to the UPS (big battery).

Do the fuzzy Math...
Water+Electricity=NoFrikkenPower..
Intardnet-MultiplayerFlightSim=RLExpieriences...
RLExpieriences+Wifey-Ack=Cuddeling&MoshyMoshey...
MoshyMoshey x's 2 squared = 1+INOven.
My prediction is if AH goes down, so will wives and there will be a baby BOOM in 9 months..
kids ....
named "Dweeb" "NooB" "Vulch" "Krusty" "BBQBob" "Skuzzy" "PYRO" "Voss" "Fester" "Flossy" "MeatWad" "RuMaL" and "FooB"...
Not a Pretty Picture Huh?

I agree, but sadly, and with the greatest respect, "Pooh21" would be way, way down the list :D
TRT the thread - I hope you fellers in Rita's path keep safe & some lessons may have been learnt from Katrina. Over here, we really don't know what bad weather is.
Regards

Skuzzy just upgraded the UPS but it won't matter if we have extended power outages. However, the projected path has moved from right over us to well east of us. It looks like we're not going to get much of it.
-
Whew! That's a relief.
Sorry for the other Texans though.
Hope they remain safe.

Wow you really don't have any understanding what a UPS does, and I thought you were just kidding. Oh well. Thanks for the add to the list though. :aok
