Must have been a migrating brit-bird flying on the wrong side of the road. We see it all the time here.

Damn Porsche drivers think they own the road, now they own the sky too?

Could be a rookie pidgeon that tried to drop a **** on the best looking car he could find...

If that POS was the best looking car he could find, then it`s all for the best.
The bird was blind and needed to be put down before he hurt someone.
-
You sure it's a bird strike? Looks more like damage caused by Porche driver's high speed wallet blow out to me. Euros littering the autobahn for miles.

I didn't need to see that..........
I own one of those :cry

the bird should have hit the "K" key to help bring his nose up and slow down to get out of compression lock.... Looks like he should have started his Immel a little sooner ;)
-
The Porsche isn't a POS, it's a fine car. It's just not the end-all supermegasexmachine pop culture used to say it was.
-
I gaurantee you will get more tail driving a low model, cheaper porsche than you would say a chevy pickup or something like that... I need to take some pics of my 68 Camero and put em on here... chicks still dig cars

Porsche makes 1 of the fastest production cars in the world, they currently have the 6th fastest production car in the world in the 2004 carrerra II. See the following link for the rest of the results. Not to mention they make a GT2 that you can order for a little under $ 185,000.00 But if you buy that you will have a car capable of doing over 195 mph, 0-60 in under 4.0 seconds... Porsche also makes a 959 model that is illegal in the US at the moment, its AWD, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, and tops at about 205mph... I don't think I would call those. The Carrera GT model also has the fastest times on the Nurburgring super track in Germany, which in itself is a great automotive feat to accomplish... I wouldn't call them POS's

They are also extremly reliable and good for everyday use.

i'm not allowed to drive at 195mph. And i don't have $185,000.....
got any thing cheaper?

And all of them looks as if a 5 year old on acid was allowed to design them. :)
I can build a rail job if I want to bust 200 hundred, but I wouldn`t want to be seen driving it down the street. :)

The Porche Boxter or perhaps the Beetle.

Some people like the way they look others hate them, but the one thing everybody agrees on is that they are freaking geniuses in engineering. Ever since Porsche 1st started selling cars, they have been a leader in design, engineering, and performance. There is not another production car company in the world that can even come close to the innovations and technology that those guys bring to the table... Do some research on there cars, and not just the newer ones, look back in the 70's and 80's when they reinvented the the turbo charger. And I think there success in le mans racing and can am racing. Let me quote this from the following link as well , "1975 Mark Donohue sets a new closed course speed record at Talladega: 221.120 mph in a turbo-intercooled 917/30." 221mph in 1975 !!!! thats freakin incredible, nascars and formula 1's could barely hit 175-180 then.

Shame with all that they couldn`t make the appearance look a little better. Maybe at least where you wouldn`t be ashamed to be seen in one unlees is was real dark in a bad storm if you are a guy.
-
well the ford GT's are an unbelievable car, but they only topped the race scene for a few years, until porsche made better upgraded.. all in all if it weren't for porsche, we wouldn't have 1/2 the technology about tuning and beefing a 6 cylinder to produce over 400 hp
-
well im a brit, but im not big on silly things like jags or british overpriced junk like that. i have always been, and will be an american muscle kinda guy. lovely old pontiacs and mustangs. im the kinda guy who would never drive anything but a good ole gas guzzling v8 :D
iceman, id love to see those pics of your camaro!
-
Pooface,
It's not a camaro but it's real racing... The second pic has the event info. Fun :) In the third pic, I'm doing around 120 mph on the superspeedway track. We were paced at 80 but I was last in line so I lagged off quite a bit and then went fast to catch up. The car is fast enough that nobody noticed/complained.

how do u post images, and i'll put my sweet 68 on there
-
Images have to be hosted on a website somewhere, and then you can use the "IMG" button and enter in the location of the picture.
If skuzzy really loved us he'd dedicate some hard drive space to allowing users to upload images (reasonably sized ones of course), but I guess he's a cold cold man at heart.
(er just kidding skuzzy, you really da man)
-
eagl, i'll email mine to you and you can upload them, will that work ?
-
whats your email addy
-
Sorry, I don't have much space on my website. If I put much stuff in there, my isp will start charging me fees. Someone else might be able to host them for you, or you can probably even get some free webspace somewhere. Most internet accounts include space for a free smallish website... Try checking to see if your internet provider offers this. Most have instructions on their website.
-
basically, the forum shows images that are already on the net, so all you do is put a link to em and they show up. what youll need to do is go to an imagehosting site (try www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us) )
once youve got them on the net, make a post, and click the img button above the text box, it will ask you for the address of the pic (so copy paste the url of your pics) and your done:p

cc don't have time to do all that... if u wish to see just send me an email debearden@siegling-us.com work iceman24@netzero.com home and i'll send em to ya

I would be glad the bird hit only the window and not any of the body parts. Immagine the cost of repair if it had hit where the windshield meets the roof-
-
akak - are you sure that was a real bird? It's still in one piece, there's no blood, and the windscreen has been badly damaged.
I was in the front seat of my dad's car many years ago, when a pheasant, which had been picking away at an animal in the middle of the road that had been run over earlier, rose up to HO us. We hit it at about 50/60, and there was blood, guts and feathers all over the windscreen - which was unbroken despite this being before the days of laminated windscreens.
The one in your pic looks more like a rubber chicken.

Its almost clear, that suicider were penguin.
Since he attempted to kill crew, he can be considered terrorist, thus linux is thread to national seccurity.
Got it ?
:D
I HOed some little birdie (4-5cm tall) in CLK last year in germany. He were flying on the right side of the road, but he was to slow and his tail lights were off.
Later on, when we parked at the petrol station, we found him in the mask. It was clear, that 1 second before he rammed our "still standing" mercedez, he turned his head back. 0.1 seconds before his dead, he wanted to say something smart to us so he opened his mouth. But before he said something he had piece of german steel in his mouth doing some 150 km/h.... ummm poor little birdie. But he died in one piece, and it proof that mercedez is more nature friendly that Porsche.

couple months ago one of my guys hit a buzzard in my work crown vic ex-cop car.. it went clear through the windshield and ended up on the seat.... not much blood... he claims he was only going about 65 mph.
I seen porche ultra engineering... we took apart a speedster back in the late sixties and seen the marvel of weight transfer.... about 80 lbs of lead in the front firewall.

Suave...
You're just jealous.
Seriously.
Only an bellybutton would judge someone by their choice of car.
Hmmm.
See what I mean?
-
No. Why wouldn't you judge someone by his choice of car? Or for that matter choice of spouse, or friends, or house, or clothes, or charity, or political affiliation, or anything. If you don't judge a person by his actions, what do you judge them by?

Judging someone by the people they surround themselves with is one thing. That shows character. Cars, houses and clothes show personal taste. A Porsche to you may represent an over inflated ego and a moron with more money than sense. But to the person that bought it a Porsche may represent the ultimate in technology and fullfilling a long time dream to own one.
