Title: Dairy Queen Buster Bar
Post by: Toad on September 27, 2005, 12:19:02 AM
OK, time to settle a family bet.

In the old, old days.... back in the late '70's and '80's was the DQ Buster Bar different than it is now?

The wager is that the OLD Buster Bars had three decent layers of fudge and peanuts in them. The top had a layer, there was a layer in the middle and the bottom had the final layer.

The current Buster Bar has no fudge and peanuts on top, a bare minimum of fudge and peanuts in the middle and a scanty dose of the same at the bottom.

Does anyone remember the Buster Bars having 3 layers or was it always 2?

There's a lot riding on this one.  ;)

Tastee-Freeze had the same thing. They did have multi-layers of flavorful perfection. Can't vouch for the DQ version though if money is involved.

Three layers, definitely.  The Buster Bar was my favorite thing from DQ when I was a little tardling.

SOB, you may be called to testify at the hearing.

;)

This wager is between my brother and his wife. Brother says three layers, wife says "same as today, 2 layers, never changed".

Yep. They are different. I've made my complaints to the local DQ owner too.

Yeah, Hawk.. that's the new "Warren Buffett owns DQ and we're going to make everything cheaper" Buster Bar.

My question is how many of us oldtimers remember when a Buster Bar had 3 layers of fudge/peanut excellence?

So far SOB and Rip remember the good ole days.........

The Buster Bar had 3 layers.
Maybe we can hire Sheehan to hold a sit down protest to get it back. :)

Seemed like three at the time. But I had the munchies throughout most of the 70' - 80's.

They also make Half Baked. Chocolate Cherry Garcia wasn't bad either except you could only get it in low fat..
