Took some screenshots that I thought looked neat
Tooling around LAX parked next to a Boeing 777. Took some shots to show scale.

Wow, what SIM is this ? And by passengers can you actually start a small buisness in the game taking passengers where they please?
-
Golfer, I noticed you're always flying the same plane. How come?
I really have no clue what sim that is, MS FS? Just curious really. Like the pics. :aok

Chockblockdweeb! :p
-
It's Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 aka MFS9. Why 9? Don't know.
The windows of the Boeing on the first pic spell "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB"
-
Yes MSFS2004 it is. How do you get the passengers to board your plane? No one wants to fly with me :D
-
Can you fly that on line? Last time I screwed around with that sim was freashmen year of college in some class that i cant even remember the name of.:aok
-
Marco Likes... I believe i actually have Flight Sim '04 anyways. :D
-
the online aspect is cruddy, you have to go though aol crap and once you get it all set there are hardly anyone flying it.
-
Where's the guns??
-
Like eilif said, they online play isn't even worth it. I used to go through MSN to play, and besides the fact of trying to get people to join your room and getting the host to start, it was just an overall pain to connect.
-
When online, users are the only controllers, meaning you have to rely on some parked guy to give landing instructions and weather conditions. Generally it's a bunch of nine year olds that can't grasp the fact that you might want to fly like a human and do everything possible to mess with you.
Passengers aren't modeled to walk to the plane, rather you can put in weights. If you want to fly a plane that has a 400 lb lard in the first seat and a 100 lb supermodel in the second, you can. :D
-
No passengers walk to the plane. It's just the eye candy (Chocks, Pitot Tube Covers, Engine Covers, Red Carpet) that makes it look like an airplane waiting for Pax.
There is a HUGE flightsim community out there with vatsim.com and wolfala can fill you in on westcoastATC as he is a controller there. A friend of mine is a controller on Vatsim and was just hired by an airline.
There are virtual airlines, charter and all sorts of different things you can do out there. The actual multiplayer stinks, but if you use Vatsim or a similar community to have fully trained 'sim' controllers and fully qualified 'sim' pilots there is a lot out there true to life.
It's Microsoft Flight Sim 2004 run on my Dell 4700. Lots of the eye candy is turned up and I target the FR to be 60 (it holds it well as shown by the fraps FR monitor)
A note about Vatsim...
They have virtual airlines where you can earn 'virutal pay' and save up to either start your own airline, buy additional gates, buy airplanes or routes and all sorts of stuff.
Google "Vatsim" and "WestcoastATC" and you'll see the light. I don't play I just usually goof around with the airplanes I've got and now and then 'pre fly' a route if im going to a new airport for my company.

Morph-
I fly the same plane because that's the plane (one of them) I'll be flying here in 2 months or so. I'm going to be leaving my part 91 (corporate) job now flying a piston single for a part 135 (charter) job flying Citation V Ultra's and Citation IIs (the airplane pictured). :D
I also paid $20 for the airplane so damnit man I'm going to use it :p
N700ES is the default tail number of the Eaglesoft Corporate verison. They also have an Air Ambulance version. I think its N147DR...will look.
-
Was close on the tail number...N174DR
Citations and Lear 35's are the most common air ambulance jets I've seen around. I don't have actual statistics but I've seen a few jets outfitted not very different from this. Lots of detail including the placards on the drawers.

Nice pics, Golfer. :) What's the key stroke to open the doors? Didn't see that in the instruction manual. And, btw, I bought the same plane since my brother flies it. Love it! w00t!
-
the default command in flight sim is "Shift + E" to open the doors. Any airplane will open. The pax doors on the 777 all the way down to the C-172's door.
I'm glad you're enjoying it! I've definately got my $20 worth out of it...I checked my engine hobbs and I've sat and played with it for 20.2 hours now...yikes
-
I was happy to do my first cross-country (2.4 hours) in a King Air from Tucson to Santa Ana. :) I was telling my squaddies how much I love the fact that hills, mts and lakes are where they're supposed to be. Fun stuff!
