Title: Saitiek x45 throttle just died
Post by: Treize69 on September 30, 2005, 04:31:12 PM
I flew last night and it worked just fine, today I tried to take off (computer ahdn't been shut off and controller hadnt been unplugged), and wy throttle isnt working, but all the buttons and the rudder switch are. I go into the calibration screens (both in-game and windows) and the throttle doesnt register, but again, all the buttons and everything do.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there anything I can do to fix it, or am I boned?

Sometimes, turning the computer off and unplugging the joystick can help.

If it doesn't, probably means the pot for that axis is 'kaput'.

Tried that, even went so far as to find the driver disk and reinstall all of the saitek software I lost hwhen the comp crashed. Still nothing, everything else besides the throttle works just fine.

Figures, I actually get some time to be able to fly and my setup goes south on me :(

never heard of it
but for every X45 I have had, over half a dozen easy now, I get the 12 month replacement plan as longevity is not their forte
