What means this message after i had built a terrain tile:
What means those "ext" and "int"? Are they error messages?
-
I have gathered that they mean something like objects or polygons coming from the HTC object base (internal) and from external, possibly customized objects or polygons..... not sure though.
In any case, i dont think it is any kind of error message.
-
I haven't been able to pin down exactly what they mean but I have confirmed that it has nothing to do with custom or standard shapes. Int objects seem to occur when an object is too close to the center of the tile, where all the lines cross and having alot of int objects will make the shp file huge which will also make the res file huge.
It would be nice if someone from HTC would jump in and explane it to us.

So is it related to crossong the white base polygon lines.. those horizontal, vertical and diagonal files? I have understood that one should not place any objects so that they overlap with these lines. That is why the splice function should be used to divide such objects in 2 parts which eahc would then be place on separate sides of that line.
Still guessing...

External Referances VS internal (i.e. need to be sliced) objects

Ah, so now i see what the 'test clip' button does, when you press it it highlights all the objects that need slicing or moving.

Oh no! Say it isn't so!
:(
Edit: After thinking about it, how is it possible large things like roads can get away with it? They don't look spliced. Er sliced. This is new territory for me.

Thank You HT. I must do some repairs with that "Test Clip" button...

Say kanttori, those 4 lines that divide it up into 8 sections, did you make a shape to do that? I haven't seen anything built into the OE to produce that image.

Check 'is terrain cell" under tile properties and they will appear.

Easyscor, you must mark the first and third boxes from the "Tile Properties":
I have problem with those hills, they are visible in Terrain Editor but not in a game!!! What's wrong? Is it because of the old HTC's tileset I have edited?
All the forestes, trees and buildings are ok, but no hills... :(

Thanks very much. I'll keep working on it.
