I got the lift and skid plates on.
We started at ten in the morning, and finished at 8pm. Never done anything like this to the cars I had worked on. Heck, with my GTOs, you had to be really careful with the springs, they could pop out and kill you, but with the jeep lift with the shocks off and the sway bar disconnected, the springs pop out by hand.
The lift instructions sucked so we had to figure a few things out.
The bumper went on easy, it’s made by Grant 4X4 in Michigan, I like it, but it was a ***** to get. DHL sucks, they should have delivered in 6 to 9 days, and it took 16, then they delivered to the wrong address and the local shipping manager basically acused me of lying. The driver dropped it off at the wrong door. The manager said he would send the driver to get it and bring it to the right place but, the driver didn’t, then the next day they tell me he delivered it to the right address and to **** off. I called customer service again, and now I had to get the owner of Grant to call too. They then said the driver was going to come show me were he left it. Well I was walking the dog through the condo complex and noticed a big box by someone else’s door. Looked at the name on it and it was my bumper. The address was not even close and the bumper box was sitting right under the address on the wall.
DHL got an earful when I called them back. Customer service was nice but the Fremont warehouse manager was a dick the whole time. I wont be using them again.

open.
I was filthy when done, I think I am going to avoid mud if I can, even after I hosed the underside down it was still filthy.
Was fun though, first time I spent all day wrenching on a car since I sold the goat.

NICE :aok
:cry
no seriously NICE
:cry
Ok I miss my Jeep
:cry
did you go with a 3"? That bumber is nice too, very clean looking.
EDIT:
On the bumper, does it allow for bigger tires/expandable?

I went with a crappy rebicon express 2 inch spacer lift. I dont like it. The jeep rides and drives the same but it seems kinda cheesy.
I am going to get OME 2 or 3 inch springs in the future and maybe suspension arms that are better then stock.
No drive line vibration even at 70.
The bumper is ajustable and will take up to a 40 inch tire!
Great price too. I paid 425$ for any of the Name brand basic tire carrier bumpers you are looking at 650 atleast and thats without anything to hold gas cans or the high lift.
I have a rack for the bumper coming from the same guy.
I have some JKS disconnects on now too, I just forgot to take pictures lol and a steering box skid.
The engine skid covers the whole tranny and oil pan.
When you getting your Jeep back Guns?

Tuesday they called me to tell me they didn't get any of the parts till friday of last week. Then they call me again and say they need the doors. When I got to the shop the only thing they had done was remove the fenderflares and the rocker panel covers.
My nieghbors car looked as if all it needed was panels paint and head lights.
EDIT:
I'm kinda beating myself up right now. with a $4600 check I could have baught an all new fiberglass tub, had it painted, and installed it myself all for $2k
-
Yeah I am kicking myself too.
For another hundred or so I could have got a set of 4 2.5 inch springs and bump stops extenders and had a better lift.
Live and learn right?:D
Next weekend we are going to hit Holister, maybe I will get the rockcrusher dif covers in by then hehe.
You can see one all painted in the parts pic.

nice ride..... I had a couple of cj7's , both had 5 inch suspension lift and 3 inch body lift with 33inch tires they were my babies.
miss them both.
one got totalled in a fatal accident, only one to survive. sold the second at wifes request after the first accident.
ya need some big ole thompsons on there.
post some pics when ya get it dirty.

Looks good.
Hey... what was your source for the Jerry Cans?

Put a 4" lift on my son's jeep about 2 months ago. It was fun but since none of us had ever done anything like that it took a while.
I'll have to get some pictures to post.
BTW jeep looks good.:D

Mine went to the paint shop on friday. I might get it back today.

Nice!
We were going to hit holister that day, but due to some mishaps(torque wrench stopped working, and the budy torquing the bolts didnt realise it and over torqued one of the back dif cover bolts and it sheared off so I had to go and buy some easy outs and a new torque wrench) we didnt get done tell dark, and I couldnt check to see if it was leaking so we canceled.
So this coming up weekend will be the real test trip.

Latest mod..
LOL yes a tad cheesy but it works.
One mag light, and a 200 pound magnet. (got it years ago from brigade quartermasters)
Slap that puppy right on the metal below the door sill with the head of the flashlight hitting the bulged part of the interior.
Flash light is not going anywhere. It doesn’t rattle either because the magnet has a rubber coating.
:rofl
-
wow that's pretty cool actually. I don't know how many time's i've popped a fuse and needed a flashlight in the cab. those also make decent weapons if needed.
-
I have used one as a hammer.
Mag lights may not be the brightest flashlights around now, but they are pretty tuff!

I wish they'd make an LED light......or an LED light compnay would make a mag light.

Go here:
http://www.quadratec.com. Teraflex is better for TJ's than OME, IMO. I know too many people with Teraflex that love em. I'd suggest limiting a body lift to only 1" (if at all).
Be sure and get some Racing fuel cell foam for the Jerry's. My buddy mounted his Hi-Lift on the inside of the TJ.
