Not that I'm working on anything at present, just that I have something in mind as a potential project. The above would be good to know.

Yep, swastika kill markings are not allowed. Swastikas not allowed in any form.
-
However, a good compromise (if you are using them as kill marks) is to use a german cross (balkenkreuz) instead of a swasti.

Thanks gents.

Err, one of the 109 skins has swastika's on the wings, the G2 I think

For the hundreth time, that is a Finnish cross and has nothing to do with the Nazi party.

Note: the swastika is blue and is not black or on a red background. It is all because of current German law prohibiting swastikas from being displayed, and because we have a few German subscribers we have to comply.

Note that the nazi's angle theirs into diamond-like orientation. I think they were unique in doing that. If it's flat (squared) and not on a red backdrop, chances are that it's not a nazi swastika.

Why? Its part of history, if they are not used then it cant be correct, it becomes revisionist.

Unfortunately, Nosara, it's a part of really really bad history. While it may feel stupid for some people, others may feel deeply offended by even the sight of the Swastika, and that's fully understandable.
The Germans for example, make it pretty clear that unless it is absolutely required (as in historical documentation or research), they will not tolerate a Nazi symbol being used. I guess their tolerance runs a little short for PC games - but then again, it is fully understandable and their legal position should be respected.
Thus, Swastikas are not allowed in the game, if the shape is used in association to the Third Reich. Buddhist symbols or the Finnish cross, is not, so it may be allowed.

The Swastica is fully allowed in Germany if you are speaking about History. I.E. A history book or a museum.
However, the German government has ruled in the past that using a Swastika in Historically correct places in a Video Game does not fly.
