do alot of people play that game online?
I was thinking about buying it but i want to play it online but afraid not many people play online.
-
There are many dedicated N4 servers, just connecting through the game interface. I have had the game since it came out and have never had a problem finding a race. Make sure you do some offline practice first, even if you are coming from N3 there are a lot of changes.
Was watching a replay last night, and when a couple cars collided one had its nose up in the air and you could see that the suspension had extended fully on the front wheels, then when it came down, you could see them compress and sparks flew as the car bottomed out. I love the attention to detail.
see you online!

Ahhhh Nascar 4....
Its been the sugar in my cup of "computer gaming" coffee lately. Fantastic physics model, good online presence with a built in Gamespy-type interface, and a helluva challenge to drive well.
Was thinking, if there were enough of us, maybe we could start an Aces High driving league (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I know Heater plays....who else does?

I've played a few of those offline... and I've always wondered about something.
Ok... When I drive 'em I end up smacking into practically every car out there. Hhmm.. was gonna give ya some reasons for why I think that is... They all pale in comparison to the biggie though. Namely, I suck.
So my question is this....
In online matches... if I did this. Not on purpose mind you (remember, I suck)... but if I went out there and ended up sculpting multi-car art, would people be extremely pissed off with me?

That's what's kept me from buying the game. Also is there a place I can d/l other people's set ups for the cars and diferent tracks? I don't want to learn all that gear ratio and tire camber/stagger stuff again.

Go fast, left turn, go fast, left turn, rinse repeat. Grand Prix Legends is much more fun IMO. To be fair, I haven't loaded this on my machine yet, but I stopped having fun going around in circles when I was 7 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I'd love to start a team up (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). My driving skills are pretty good except i dont know how to fiddle with all the weight ratio options and other complicated gizmos (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif). send me an E-mail if you want to start a team....zipdog97@aol.com

I was in "TEN" way back when it started. Lemme tell you, the diffrence between flying AH drunk, and driving drunk on a crappy modem is night and whoopee day!
I loved TEN. Pay by the hour too I think.
The members there were incredible whiners. It would make Rhino and Tom666 look fun.
Anyway, Im in a ongoing quest to win the online Wiston Cup with my super love rocket I built meself....

If you went out there ON PURPOSE trying to wreck people, yes there would be quite a few people pissed including me. Its a sim at heart....not a game and many kids pick it off the shelf and figure they are gonna 'KiCkAsz' because they RocK at that arcade game DaytonaUSA (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Its not the case. Nascar 4 requires patience and skill to drive well and lots of it. Those who have put in the time do not take kindly to those who have gotten frustrated and decide to play demolition derby.
Now, I am by no means a great driver out there myself and have gotten a tad loose, taking out people by accident and have never been flamed for my mistake. Most people realize that racing is a dicey proposition esp. when yer drving your car on the edge of the friction circle at 190MPH.

Yup. Theres a number of sites with links to setups. Namely Team Lightspeed and Black Hole Motorsports. Both have some great setups which I use myself (albeit with a little bit of tweaking). They are competitive in their own right but Im a masochist...I feel the need to tweak (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Team Lightspeed (http://www.team-lightspeed.com)
Black Hole Motorsports (http://www.bhmotorsports.com)
I believe there are also setups accessible via WON (the built in gamespy interface) but I would question the quality since anyone can post theirs to WON.

I raced TEN myself Creamo but TEN was not pay by the hour. They had a flat fee based service (maybe it was tiered with an hourly option and a flat fee based option). Anyway, the racing there was a blast.
Love the ride of yours....tho I prefer a bit less meat on my maids (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I used to drive the #33 Cherry Skoal Long Cut car owned by Spectre Racing but now have had to drop that sponsor in favor of the #33 Nicoderm CQ car. Health purposed and all that (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Wish I were able to post my car here...kinda proud of what my teammate Gritz did with it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

True to each his own....I've raced GPL and the majority of the races include maybe 8 people and if you are lucky you might see 1 other car after the 1st lap. Nascar 4 OTOH keeps the races pretty close since the tracks are much smaller than the GPL counterparts. Gimme close racing anyday.

Depends on what track you race in GPL. Watkens Glenn and Monza offer some close racing and, depending on how much practice the other racers have had, you can have some realy close races. The group of AiwWarriors that I used to race with had some realy good drivers but they had to deal with the lesser skilled ones <like me> and the challenges of passing on lefts AND rights with open wheeled cars. You're right, to each his own (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
