Looks like the rifle they're using in most laughable videos is Heym 600 Nitro Express (cal is 15.24x76mm)
Edit:
Just checked:
Westley Richards is selling .600 NE ammunitions; 124$/5pc

These guys didn't probably ever handle the rifle before. Most of then haven't beed told what the right shooting position is. In a rifleing section where I studied when I was in 7th grade they didn't let us shoot for a few weeks, all we did was standing with rifles "at ready" (don't know the right word, in Russian it is "izgotovka"), and train the correct way to stand aiming it.
In general it shows that if you'll give a stupid a noodle made of glass - he'll break it and cut his hands.
-
Boroda some info about .600 NItro Express:
900 grain Soft Nose or Solid Bullet.
Muzzle Velocity 1950 ft/sec.
Energy 7600 ft/lbs.
Made for killing elephants etc.
It's not a 7,62x54R (180 grain bullet,energy 2700-2800ft/lbs) :D

Impressive, but without a basic rifle handling training you can break your shoulder even with an AKM.
BTW, I am not a hunter and don't know how do you have to handle this monster. But according to my rifleing instructors (and my Father, Master Candidate in shooting) they hold it incorrect.
BTW, how much does this thing weight? ;)

Looks like its 12,8pounds = less than 6kg (I thought it was heavier)
Yeah I was in a gun-club when I was a kid and even when we were shooting with air-rifles we had to stand in a correct way (Our teacher was world-class competitor in ladies class in mid '70s).
Actually I was already smiling when I saw how those guys stand with their weapon...
btw in club while shooting from ground we had to put a coin over the barrel's muzzle and pull the trigger (with empty chamber) without dropping that coin.
Same trick was in use in the army and 'cause I already know what I was doing I got "golden" shooter's badge and could leave the shooting range and go back to barracks in one hour while rest of guys stayed there whole day. In -20 degree cold
(Thought it was a close call:
One of my shots hit the target when it was already going down to bunker and sergeant didn't like that one. I said if it would be a enemy my guess is he would stay down too. Also my first target went in halfs 'cause the batten where target was set broke because it was right behind the target's center. Sarge yelled me to change to the next target in a middle of the shootings and because it went like in a dream he did forgive me that "close call" and gave me my badge :)
edit: I also got three days vacation from duty, I heard it's only one day vacation now if you get that golden badge. Poor guys :D

I was carrying a Marlin Goose Gun with I was 10. Learning to hold it propperly was a necessity. Anyone who's ever had to shoot one probably knows what I'm talking about :)
-
wich is the video you guys are talking about?
there are like 100 on that page
-
The AKM is not even a 7.62 * 54. Its more like a 7.62*39 I think. And if you can break your shoulder with it its because some one clubed you with it.
-
Ahhh now we begin to agree ... I think? ... license/regulate PEOPLE not guns.
But again, will the liberal caucus agree that the PEOPLE are the problem? Methinks not <sigh>
-
ROTFL! :D

I dont care who you are or where you learned to shoot a rifle, your not gona be able to hold down a 15.24x76mm round coming out at 7600 ft/lbs.
Look at the power those put out then think about the 109 with its 30mm or the yak with its 37mm going full auto. Or better yet ever see that video of the A10 with its 50cal vulcan putting about 5 secs worth of rounds into a moose? I'm not into killing animals just for fun but that was some funny chit.
If you have that video please post it, i lost the link :).
-
Yep Pongo, 7,62x53 and 54R are for rifles and 39R(orig.1943) is usually used in AK-type assault-rifles thought some Kalashnikovs are using 5,45x39.
btw A-10 has 30mm Avenger, not 20mm Vulcan gatling type cannon.
