Welp, we didn't do as well as frame-1, but not bad for "Rice-Kites". 14 kills.
Aeries (aka-9658) got top gun for our squad. 3 Kills. WTFG.
I made a bad decision to engage the F4Fs.
It was a toss-up as to whether they carried bombs or drop tanks.
They were authorized to carry either option.
With bombs they represented a real threat to our CV-4.
With DTs they did not.
Turns out they had only DTs.
Buy the time I got close enough to tell which, (got an "assist" kill) I was too damned low to get to hell out of there and wait for the SBDs with bombs.
Glad to see my guys got some F4Fs and SBDs even though they sunk our C4.
I stayed in the towers reporting sitreps to the brass to the end, while our only survivor, SAVAGE continued the war smartly.

I had little time Saturday or Sunday for an AAR. Was building my daughter a computer for her 12th birthday this coming weekend. :) Once Monday hit I have been real busy till now. Normally I would be flying (practicing) our Friday night ride, but since we don’t have any orders yet and I don’t know what to practice in I figured I would post our brief AAR. I actually thought I posted one already, but guess not.
Mongrels launched about 10 F4F’s. We were slotted to take out an enemy CAP over a fleet that was north of us. I stuck ghosth and outlaw with the SBD’s and the rest of us spread out north in search of the enemy fleet. After about 30 minutes of flying it was spotted. About the same time I was jumped by a couple Zekes. I just happened to look back at the right moment or I would be toast. I dove to the deck and ran for where some of my guys were (about 1 sector east). I dragged the two chasing me to Maddog and CarbHeat who had two on them. I missed two good shots once we all passed each other and started a furball. Moments later I was shot down. I then joined SEDan51 as a gunner. He made a beautiful drop on the enemy CV and with the help of several other Mongrels actually managed to escape. :) I think we lost about as many as we shot down. Grillman and Sour were the killers in our squad with 3 kills each. :)
I wonder who were the two that jumped me at 18k heading east. I was the lone F4F asleep at the stick. :)
