Nice choice Rogerdee- really a striking scheme.    The model in the link Skywolf posted is incredible!     Comparing it to your unfinished scheme, I note that yours need the black recognition stripes on the tailplanes, and the font for "ANGEL" seems too small.

Any idea why the antiglare panel on the fuselage top is so shiny?    Lots of the natural metal textures have antiglare sections that force a flat-finish look on the skin, I'm wondering if that was omitted in the D-11 because so many were painted rather than natural metal?    You might try some tweaks to the material.txt file if that's so...

ok resized the letternig and added the stripes, played with the material file  and got the green non  shiny but  not thhe silver is diferent have to play some more.
looking at the model it shows the writing to be yellow and not so orange as the profile any one got any ideas would the yellow be closer?

Never seen the -47 in question, but just picturing it, the yellow would probably be better.

I tried emailing the guy to get his sources but his email bounced.

I don't know what's correct, but I dig the orange.

There you have it. Besides a 21st Century version with no wingtips colors...... this is the extent of my research abilities.

thank you for the links skywolf it was very intresting to read the story of the model sent to his brother, that someone spent the time to track the family down and send it to them shows that people do still care  for our old vetrans even if schools say its not right history to teach.

Rogerdee, saw a nice portrait of a Jug in the town of Dubois, Wyoming in their museum.  Very small town.  Very small museum.  Apparantly, one of the citizens was a jug pilot in WW2.  I've forgotten his name.  He had the Wyoming cowboy (state symbol) painted in red (I think) on his planes nose.

Have you seen it by any chance?

judging by the picture you posted the word "Blonde" should be in a different font and there should be an area of metal between the fuselage insignia and the invasion stripes. It also looks really clean. Looks good for the mostpart.

Is it just the way the image was hosted online, or is it the way that Jugs map skins to the plane? It looks like the fuselage is kinda blurry (but not the rest of the plane)

i think its the way it posted  the jpeg always seems  a little different.
the blond is  a different font, and what bit of baer metal do u mean  .
the bit by the star and bar? there was some bare metal there but the picture angel doesnt show it so good or do yu mean com, pletly around the star and bar which i just noticed.
there isnt any dirt on it yet i am still trying to get the basics right

for "Blonde" I think you should use French Script MT
I meant bare metal completely around the star and bar like what I did for Big Mac Jr (http://ah-skins.com/skins/screenshot355.jpg)

I dunno, orange seems too dark and yellow too light. Put this in as your color C57817 and see if you like that any better.
