Not sure what the maps real name is, but it the current one running with the fighter town. I do not know how to make maps. So my 1st question is can the map maker place the towns anywhere he wants? If the answer is YES then here is my suggestion.
Could he place the towns in Fighter Town in the Lake? This way if you tried to capture the base the troops would drowned before getting to the map room. Hense no one could capture them and those that want it as a fighter town will get what they want.
I rearly do the fighter town, but I still think the hard core furballers should have a place for them to do there thing, without knuggets ruining it for them.
Anyway that my suggestion, maybe HT will help out and MOD the map.

Rooks / Knights took care of the problem.

Remove the puffy ack and make the field ack indestructable.

Unfortunately, this is something the player base needs to solve.

Troops walk on water just the as the bailed out pilot does.
One way make these bases "uncapturable" could be to make C-47 and M-3 unavailable at these bases... just like Me163 is availabel at only some bases. I assume that there is a high mountain range around the area preventing troops coming from outside.
-
perhaps the best way to solve this problem is for the dedicated furballers, irrespective of chesspiece affilliation to call out buff and goon "mishuns" as they are rolling and provide target info on ch200. the toolshedders love their rank, a few spankings that tank their rank should be sufficient to send them elsewhere. I have to side with akak on this one. we can easily solve this problem amongst ourselves then we can continue with the mutual killing and smacking in peace, as it were.
-
Since all maps have a "nickname" different than the official name...
I hereby dub "donut.ter" to reflect it's Fighter Town area, the.....
"Glory Hole" map!!

You mean ch200 buffs of your own country?

Absolutely.
Came on last night and apparently some of the Bish felt the need to capture the furball center of the map.
What I didn't get about that, was that with all those fields to take, the toolshedders felt the need to wreck it for the furballers. Why not leave the furballers where they can't get in the way of the toolshedders?
At that point it was someone trying to wreck someone elses fun sad to say.

I agree w/ Ack-Ack, Storch and Guppy. The Players are the only ones who can stop this chit. If the pinheads insist on ruining our fun then I'm all for calling them out on 200.

So have furballer=spy. Great Idea! Any failure to take a base or a gooney getting shot down will be blamed on the damned furballer spies because if they do it on THEIR pet bases they will do it anywhere. Buncha troublemakers they are. Can't trust any of 'em.
Probably would be a good way to get ch200 shut down though. Again, great idea, I'm all for it. (http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/spezial/Sarge/Whatever_anim.gif)

Aye, any bombers I see in "the glory hole" :lol are likely going to be reported on 200. There is no reason to be there other than to try to piss the "mindless furballing hordes whose interest in fighting has supported this genre for a long time".
I also agree that no matter what HTC does, or tries to do, that only the player base can sort this one out- just like the numbers imbalances.

Are there any Bish furballers? Seems like they could help talk them out of this kind of Male Bovine Doody and or report them to a dedicated group of bomber bashers.

I also agree the player base should fix this problem. I am just not sure it will be able too. Fixing the problem to me isn't going back and taking the bases back after some nuggets took them.
Hub I have to disagree with you on the players fixing the numbers imbalance. HT incorporated the ENY to help deal with it. If the players fixed this problem we wouldn't have the ENY thing in the first place. Or it wouldn't ever go into effect if the players fixed that problem. Numbers are always going to fluxuate from one country to another. One country always seems to be low in numbers but in time it always switches and another country is in the barrel.
Blauk stated troops can walk on water so my suggestion wouldn't work. Unless they changed it, I remeber a map that had one base with the town partially in the water and we could never capture it due to the troops landing in water before they could get to the map room.
I proposed this idea as a hopfully easy fix to the problem.
No one actually answered my original question as to whether the map maker could place the towns anywhere he wanted. So if my idea of putting the towns in the water wouldn't work, (based on Blauks answer to troops being able to walk on water) What about placing the towns by the HQ's or something. Somewhere where it would make it extremely difficult to capture. Ofcourse this is based on if the answer to my original question is; YES they can place the towns anywhere they want.
If someone did answer my question and I missed it I appologize.
I would hope the community would respect Fighter town and leave it as it was intended, but as long as I have been playing this game, I don't forsee it happening without making it extremely difficult to accomplish.
Thanks for some good inputs guys

I just realized that I am not absolutely sure about this troops on water thing, it is more like an assumption based on how bailed out pilots also walk on water... sorry about that
If they cannot walk on water, it would solve some map making issues :) .. I suppose I gotta try it out or ask some more people about it.
The towns and map rooms can be placed fairly freely. There does not even have to be town, just a map room... hmm or is it eve required I wonder. Maybe the towns and map rooms for those 3 bases could be just removed.

No biggy Blauk.

I would think they could disable particular vehicles at the Fightertown fields. They disable a lot of planes on CV's. They disable the 163 at all but one base.
Disable the C-47, the M-3 and the LVT. Problem, for the most part, is solved. There will still be the occasional jackaxes that will escort a goon in over the mountains to try to spoil other people's gameplay.

Excellent suggestion Toad. Authors of the Donut map please take note!
Killing goons coming over the mountains would not be hard at all. After a few futile attempts hopefully they would get tired of it.

As a Bish pilot who could be called anything but good, I found it very dishearting to log in last night and see the FT are controlled by my own team.
For a person such as myself lacking in skills and trying to learn, the center of the donut map is a great tool. SA is REQUIRED not just kinda important here with the amount of cons in the area. Gunnery and aim is critical due the amount of time one averages to live.
I understand the role of landgrabbers and with my squad have join in many missions to achive this goal but this map is clearly designed to have a furball area. Why the contraversy? I am neither a good furballer nor a good toolshed killer but I see the importance of both and as was mention above there is more then enough room to have both happening at the same time. Maybe I just dont get it. Is it pick one side of the fence or other? Why are both not an option for each player?
We my squadies are playing we no doubt will be running a mission. Defending a certain base or grabbing another but when they are not here it is "me against the world". What am I going to do? Grab a base myself? Doubtful (see above skill level). I have to resort to picking and choosing where to fight and what to fight. The furball option provides a great deal of entertainment and help to a person like me. Why shut it down?
oh, one more thing,
what in the bloody hell is QUAH?

Since the 1st time I flew the donut I've been calling out buffs leaving our base. I only wish the other team would do the same.
It's just like hiding CVs. I'll call those out on 200 also.
PS... what in the hell is this :O ??? :lol

I didn't hear anyone complaining the last rotation of this map when the
Bish were shut out of FT several times. Seems the only time folks complain
is when the Bish do something. How many times has tank town been
taken over ? More often than Ft has been.
Why did we do it last night ? because we could and beat everyone else to
it.
There was much discussion on ch 200 from both rook / nits about "we
should have thought of that."
just my 2 cents

These guys (and all countries have them) are intent on ruining the fun and are likely not going to listen when asked to stop. I was surprised though when I did ask on country channel to leave the bases alone, one Bishop did stop but for the most part if falls on deaf ears.

Whenever I see a Bish buff in the area, I give out the sector coordinates, size of force and altitude. I also do not engage any enemy fighters that are trying to pounce the bombers.

It's very possible. Would take about 5 minutes to disable the Goons,PTs,Bombers or what ever else would be needed at those 3 bases. Would put an end to a bunch of people being pissed off by a few.

Good suggestions Toad, it's gotta be doable. Disable ord, troops or the stuff that carries troops in FT. Not sure about disabling bombers though, there are some of the "special" types that don't take ord and furball in Ju87's, IL2's, and A20s ;) .
-
Ord and troops would do it, but I don't know if HT would go for it. I doubt he would. Don't think he'd disable buffs either.
He might go for no C-47's, no LVT's and no M-3's.
All we can do is ask. FT is the best thing that's happened to this game in probably two years. If you like, love it, want more of it... we'd all better speak up.
-
It's doable, I'm sure, but adjusting the fields that were set-up in that fashion (I assume intentionally, but only the map designers can say for sure) to better suit the needs/desires of the furballers would only make the CTF hordes believe HT values our interests more than theirs.
Can you imagine the volume of hate EMail he'd get?
For this reason alone, I support the changes. :)

Yeah, that is the one downside. There are some like me that like to dogfight in the D3A, Ju87, IL2 and A-20 but I'd be willing to pay the price of night being able to fight in those planes if it means stopping the intentional griefing of those in the furball area.

Dunno in my little experience today* it was more like a nature documentary about food chain ,plancton on the bottom fishes over and finally dolphins on top.
A bit boring ,but I'll retry ... but not in a Ki61 :D
*I hate my workload 14*5 since 2 month it' to much to have fun in AH after :(

Record straight
Herbalife I am, Fighter town Base captures I did not! I logged on and they were already taken. But I did Commence a whooping on the Nights and Rooks as they began their ultimately successful re-take.
Thanks for all the kills, perks and most of all the fun. Yes it is just a game for me. I love to Fight each and everyone one of you in the virtual skies. I do enjoy a good friendly pilot war with several of the better fighters, Shawk ,Wmlute, and Leviathn.
PS kill me if you can, Does any one sell a product that will help me not up at capped fields? I can't control myself.

You can just disable the heavys and the C-47s. It doesnt have to be bombers on or off. The ord would be a different story, but heavy Jugs and '38s would be easier to deal with then constant streams of 24s.
Im sure some would have a slobbering fit but its only 3 bases on 1 map. Its far from an over the top request. Try it for a week and if the sky falls then pull the plug.
