360 mph at 30k
Tons of .50's all over,,and a 20mm in tail
20K of ord
Think this plane would mess up the game IMO,,and im a Bomber pilot
I look forward to some B-25's though (C and an H)...
of course after we get a Betty a P2 and a Ju-188

Yes it would damage gameplay. Unless it was "HEAVILY" perked. Keep it on par with the 262 perk price and you will have no problems.
However with that said......this dead horse has been beaten yet again. Fill the early and mid war plane gaps in first.

Most bomber pilots come in at 7k and miss everything on the field while dropping all ord in one pass.
After that they go afk so its easy to shoot em down.
Now when they pilot a b 29 that would only be more perks for the fighters shooting em down.
The few bomber pilots that are worth their salt can take down a whole field with a set of b24s so it doesnt matter weather they pilot b 24s or b 29. I think the impact on the ma will be minimal at best.

exactly right.
there is no need for a perk on the b29 whatsoever, just put the eny to 5, and possibly the obj aswell. that way we could have an obj limiter just like eny limiter, stopping the b29's from riding in hordes.
whether its a stuka or an uber b29, it will get killed in the ma, sure, it might shoot one fighter down if ure lucky, but there will still be another 3 or 4 to take its place. IMHO, the only thing that should be perked in the game are the 262 and arado, and maybe slight perk on the tempest

B-29 wouldnt be able to take off in AH, runways arent long enough and even if they were, it would just slam into a hill or tree at the end of the runway.
would be fun to watch darwinism in action though.

hiteck already saaid at the moment they woulfnt be able to replecate the action of the remote guns ,if he could then the 234 would have the preiscope working for its guns.

Heres some feedback. See that little button that says "Search"? It lets you search for specific subjects you type in, for example the B-29

Man if someone wants to spend all night climbing to 30K and has the skills to hit his targets!
Then more power to him I say bring the B-29 as it will be just another target:huh

You're typing in all caps and using furious emotes.
That said, the B-29 is not currently in development for AH. It will eventually be added in, but that is a long time off.

Some of these guys are slamming the B-29 simply because they fear the impact on the game. In the pacific theater the B-29 didnt typically fly high-alt missions like its B-17 counterparts in Europe.
I would love to see bombs only dropped from the F6 view in the game, maybe pilot view in SOME planes.
Here are a few facts about the B-29:
The B-29 first flew Sept. 21, 1942 and first flew in combat June 5, 1944, 15 months before the end of the war.
Data Direct from Boeings website:
First flight: Sept. 21, 1942
Model number: 345
Classification: Bomber
Span: 141 feet 3 inches
Length: 99 feet
Gross weight: 105,000 pounds (140,000 pounds postwar)
Top speed: 365 mph
Cruising speed: 220 mph
Range: 5,830 miles
Ceiling: 31,850 feet (According to Boeings Website 4,000 ft LOWER than B-17!)
Power: Four 2,200-horsepower Wright Double Cyclone engines
Accommodation: 10 crew
Armament: 12 .50-caliber machine guns, 1 20 mm cannon, 20,000-pound bomb load
Nearly 3,900 were built and delivered during the war.

Thanks for the info on the B-29, Mr No Name. Pretty spectacular specs. I hope HTC gets to it someday.

The perk system is also in place. We don't have any perk planes going into 1.05, but we'll still have the system up and ready. It's been awhile since we've discussed the perk system so I'll describe the basics of it again. On the outside the perk system is a way for us to introduce some interesting but otherwise unbalancing planes on a limited basis but the benefits go deeper than that. Perk planes (and vehicles) would be things like Me 262s, Ta 152s, Tempests, B-29s, Ar 234s, Tiger IIs, etc. These are interesting rides but would be very unbalancing if they were available on an unlimited basis. So there won't be unlimited availability but they'll be available as bonuses or perks every so often.
That was back in 11-30-2000. So its not like they hvaent thought about it. :)
