Dear Pilots !
The upcoming scenario "Flames over Malta" which will be a clash between Regia Aironautica, Luftwaffe and the RAF playing in the spring of 1942 has still free spots. The RAF with their Spitfires mk V and Hurricanes will defend against ju88s,109F4, 109E4 and C202.If you havent seen it yet, check out the Scenario description of Fire over Malta (http://events.hitechcreations.com/scenarios/scenario_list.php) or read about it here on the board.

Lt. Schutt of 9 Gruppo was filmed on his first outing of his brand new C.202. He just recieved his clearence to pilot fighters a few weeks ago and ups his new ride for a short test HOP.
The new engine needs to be treated lightly and has by no means full power yet. The gear is a bit springy and the aggressive handling of this first class fighter aircraft by no means resembles any of the training rides.

A film made by Schatzi. Big thanks for the great work she did in putting together my testride AHF films into a great movie clip.
Another thank you goes to Morpheus for hosting the film for us, thank you too!
ciao schutt

Ok, fellas, the Axis obviously needs more such qualified pilots to counter the Allied interceptors.... join NOW (http://www.ahevents.org/)!

Id be happy to join Shatz but Im outta commision until i get a new stick.

Ouch.
I did some two hours mouse flying/fighting yesterday. Its quite doable actually, once I found out that a right mouse click 'centers' all controls back to neutral. The only thing i still have a bit of a problem with is flatspin recovery....

As the self proclamed XO of the 9 Gruppo I'm happy to announce that Schutt is promoted to "official target magnet for the squad".
and congrats :D

Another good one Schatzi
And Schutt, very nice piloting. I've tried a few landings like that in the TA and its tough bouncing a crate around like that without damaging it. to you also.
-
Well done! :)
Schutt, what is your graphics card? I use FRAPS also, but when I turn on "antialising" my frame rates drop to about 6 or 7. With it turned off they are up to 30 or so. Problem is with it off my AC have all the jaggies on the edges.
Thanks in advance! :)

schatzi made the film and recording, so i guess it depends on her graphics card. Not entirely sure but i think its a ati 9600. i dont think aa is on either... need to check that.
-
great film who did the music? sure would like to get a copy of those 2. now i understand auto takeoff.

Oops, my mistake. Forgot to add that to the credits.
Its a german vocal group called 6-Zylinder. The CD the songs are from is called Vokal Total (http://www.6-zylinder.de/de/cds___43__h_rbeispiele.php?cd=6&PHPSESSID=88df843144d66798204760603566c6e4) .
Or, if you prefer amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000AR9J/qid=1130538765/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl15/002-6327773-9010454?v=glance&s=music&n=507846
Originally "Hit the road, Jack" was sung by Ray Charles, "All shook up" is an Elvis Presley song.

Schatzi what is your graphics card? What were your frame rates in FRAPS and did you have aa on?
-
Im sorry for the late reply daddog. Being the PC dork i am I needed Schutts help to figure out all that computer MumboJumbo first.
I got an AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz with 1 GB RAM
GC: ATI RADEON 9600 Series AGP (0x4150)
I wasnt running anti aliasing (its set to standard).
I usually have 75 fps (ingame) and 43 fps in film viewer. Swiching on AA earlier lowered the FPS ingame to about 55, in film viewer they stayed the same. Didnt make a test yet, if film quality is more eyepleasing with AA on (without much of a file size increase). Will have to try that.
One thing i noticed. My viewer FR dropped to single digits when theres another programm (MediaPlayer or WMM) running as well. Make sure you got everything shut off before recording (except viewer and FRAPS of course). Still i need to record the odd scene more than once cause of stutters and micro freezes in the viewer.
Edit: I record the avis with 30 FPS. When calculating the wmv file, i usually go for a max file size otion of about 6 or 7 MB per minute.
-
Thank you sir.
Well maybe I need that kind of video card. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 660GT I am happy with. In game my frames are pretty much 75 with AA on (50's in a furball). Things are smooth as silk. When I view the film it is the same, but the moment I turn on FRAPS my frame rates drop to 5 or 6. :( Only when I turn off AA prior to watching a film in the AH film viewer will FRAPS run at 20 or 30 frames per second, but then the aircraft have those big jaggies.
I will make sure I don't have anthing else running.
Humm.

Thank you.

First frame went surprisingly well for the italians.
Hope we do as good in second one too.
