It was fun, i like the CHog (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I think that was my record for kills, i had a wholle lot.

ok, ok, let me intercept the crap here......(especially from RAM).
(http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) Wegaman here is a fellow squaddie. I should point out he's a newbie, he's young and this isnt meant as a troll.
Now anyone who wants to flame this lad for his....ahem....slightly dweeby comment, please come through me first.
Everyone's flown the C Hog at least once.....just to see what the fuss is about.

Wega, great plane it is, VMF-323 uses it for balancing Ostie's in field suppression, we use the 1D for Air to Air since its ammo load out is much more appealing when numerous enemy are encountered, or loiter time is going to be longer...however the 1C is a fine ATA weapon as well, with historically deadly Hispano's.
Enjoy it, its a great ride, and in the hands of a skilled pilot, can be quite a deadly platform...get low and slow in it, you're dead meat.

Heres the HTC dilemma:
Chogs are too dangerous for children.
Chogs are designed primarily for children.
Just get it over with and Perk Ripsnort!

hehehe, think about that statement just a minute, lol.

Ah.. no need to flame.. he's 16:22 in the F4u-1C. See.. it didn't turn him into some kind of uber pilot.

Ya, it's not some super duper plane (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
BTW, I am not a newbie. I was here in 1.03 for a month, but had to leave cause of school (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
That was like the first time I had ever flown the f4u, it was cool but I can see what ya mean wiht turbo lasers, the guns were extremely powerful. 3 shots their wing came off.

Fly the La-5 Wega, or I'll kick you out of the squad. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
RAM - go away (again).

Dropping in to watch the progress, I see this topic again...
Man, fly whatever gives you pleasure and ignore everyone and everything else. Life is too complicated to get upset this easily... So long as it is available, you are not cheating or hacking, and you aren't exploiting a game bug, how can you be doing any wrong?
Enjoy the F4U-1C!
-
Damnit K,
The F4u1C IS a game bug! LMAO

I don't mind the Hog C, as long as I'm in its 6. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) They are pretty easy to kill then.

Oh sure, we all used the Chog at first. I did. But when I started to understand the basics of this game and basics of ACM, I left it.
Please note...BEFORE I KNEW ABOUT ACM I WAS FLYING THE CHOG...and geting 1,2,3..even 4 kills in it.
First week in AH I did HOs also. A lot of them. That doesnt stop me saying that to do a HO without being in the strict defensive is a stupidity.
Thankfully Rip showed the light path to me, by leading me in a 190A8 sortie (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
since then till today... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
BTW Wegaman, no pun intended, this wasnt directed at you. Was directed at the most crappy plane that has ever seen the light in AH.
PLEASE fly the plane where you fit the best, and where you have fun if the plane is there, you are free to fly it and I respect it. The problem is that is my understanding that it SHOULDNT be there. But that has nothing to do with you (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
and BTW <S> on the 16 kills . (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
-
There is not a plane out there that cannot be killed. There is not a person that cannot be killed.
That being said STOP squeakING ABOUT THE 1c!!
Learn to kill it. YEESH!
Man! the 1c is too good the N1K is to good the P51 is to good the ostwind is to good..... where does it end?
Fly whatever you want and to hell with everyone else.
P.S. I think the M3 is harder to kill than the 1c.
P.P.S. Wegaman glad you found a ride you like.

Where where are you tonight,
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over and thought Id found true love, You found another and *plutzzz* you was gone!

The 1C is a great plane historically and requires a high degree of skill to pilot effectively.
At the beginning of the next tour, the 13th TAS will be flying the Chog exclusively and will no longer be known as a Pony Squad.
Have fun Weg and keep knockin them outta the sky (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

congratulations wegaman i never got 15 kills in the 6 months i'm playing now.
But hell i fly the P38, Hellcat and TBM.
Chogs are no problem for me just avoid the HO and win the fight and don't let it runaway.
Didn't found a chog driver who doesn't count on his HO move yet. They are mostly not man enough to try to kill ur 6.
for the rest it's a normal plane

From Tour12:
AKSWulfe has 34 kills and has been killed 9 times against the F4U-1C.
And here's the real kicker just for RAM...
AKSWulfe has 11 kills and has been killed 1 time in the fw190A-5 against the F4U-1C.
The -1C is uber I tell you.. UBBBEEEERRRRRRRRR!!!!!! It's too good for the arena only dweebs... oooo a penny!
Really, it's not much of a threat, only when there's an entire armada of 'em.. and then any plane is a threat like that. Even the lowly C202.

He was kidding, Mauser (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) er, maybe it was a bad edit? I think that should read...
Starting next camp we are going to start HUNTING the CHOG, exclusively, and will no longer be known as a Pony Squad, but as Hog Hunters!

I had to take a hiatus- I couldn't seem to find a decent connect to HTC. I had a bad spell or two before, but this one was a show-stopper. Funny thing was, my brother plays on the same ISP and he has no trouble at all! The only difference is he is dial-up and I am ISDN... anyway, I knew it was my end giving the trouble, so there was no need to squeak at HTC for something that wasn't their fault and they couldn't fix. I was hanging on because I believed cable was coming in December, but it turns out it will get here in August. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) The pull is strong though, and perhaps I will try again and just dedicate myself to the navy.
I did try my old haunts at DoA, and while I enjoy that community very much (very cool group of guys BTW- you almost never see any derogatory remarks on the open buffer, and the fights are spirited) it is a sim that has been forgotten by their company. A real shame, I always felt it was a diamond in the rough.
Yes, there is inner peace to be had by relaxing enough to enjoy the moment. The trouble with adults and play is that adults sometimes try so hard to qualify the parameters for their "fun" that they lose track of the simple act of having fun. In the "realism vs. arcade" argument there is no clear winner, as both sides will have strong lobbies. That of course won't stop one side from deriding the other for not playing by their rules. It's a self-destructive path; here we have a new guy who is revelling in his newfound ability to be successful in this difficult to master simulation/game, and he is immediately pounced upon for using a crutch. That IMHO is just wrong. To make an extreme analogy, why not chastize a ten-month-old for using a walker to learn to walk? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
