Title: salvo settings
Post by: pops949 on October 27, 2005, 12:07:18 PM
I would like to see something in the cockpit that tells me my salvo setting,  so I don't have to retype it all the time.

Good idea.  But maybe not something in the physical cockpit.

Maybe something like the Damage list.

Ctrl A gives you a list of everything you've chosen.

On the subject of salvos.. I'd like a new possible value for the variable.

Instead of ".salvo 1" or ".salvo 5" or fill-in-the-number, I would like to see ".salvo all", so that all different types of bombs could be dropped in the same salvo. Historically planes could do this. There's footage of a Ju87B-2 dive-bombing something behind some trees. It drops its centerline 1kg bomb and all 4 of its wing mounted bombs at the same time and pulls up. I'm fairly sure (no footage, though) that all other bombers could do this as well.

One caveat: This doesn't affect rockets if you have them.

This would help with planes like the a20 and il2, that have internal/external that can be the same bomb size (gets darned confusing toggling back and forth, remembering which you have selected).

Look at the Bomb Site info. Right under the Alt setting is your Salvo and Delay settings. The info is right were it needs to be, in the bomb site. The pilots of the bombers didn't set the salvo and delay, the bombadiers did and thats were the info is at here.

Happy Bombing

Also after reading this thread for the third time, I realize you are probably talking about the planes without a bomb site. Yeah an information page would be nice to have in this case.
