What is your best move for getting a shot on and getting out of tricky situations please post thanks Mendez
-
Thats like asking if a wrench is a better tool than a socket.....
You need to be more specific.
Dave

the reversal. i love it when planes are on my 6 because i make them overshoot and blast them to hell. i actually prefer planers to be behind me. i have been missing my snapshots lately though :cry
also i like the spiral climb rope. i get a plane 200 on my 6 and rope them even if they are better climbers then me. it's fabulous! it usually works against newer players and sometimes against older players who suck. i get picked alot doing it though...
some people might know what i am talking about...
-
HO...hands down.
-
Well Nomak is the wrench better than the socket or not its not a trick question you must have a best move?
-
My best move is where I keep flying and they crash and burn. Just fly re-active. tight roll is great bro!:D
-
The one that wins me the fight.
-
Mendez, i think what Nomak tried to say (and in a very twisted way Mega as well) is that there isnt a 'best move' in general. But theres a 'best move' for every situation/own plane/opponent plane/alt/speed/opposing pilot/fuel loadout/...... you get the picture.

Different tools for different jobs.
Is what I beleive he was refering to.
-
I'm partial to turning.
-
The "cherry pick"
Coming in on a victim at about 550mph and blasting him before he knows what happened.
-
Either boom and zoom, vector roll, or high-side run.
I'm dead as soon as I try to turn with someone 90% of the time.
-
The rope. Just love it when you execute it perfectly and they're stalling out about 600 yrds below you giving you the perfect top down shot on the cockpit.
g00b
-
Some day I hope to have a move.
-
There is nothing more fun then a well executed barrel roll.
I just love it when a 109 follows you down in in a low g turn.
Roll in opposite direction of the turn.
Look in the overhead view as they desparatly try to pull up.
Compleat roll on nme 6 and pop em.
It's just beautiful to watch.

They're right, there's no certain move that fits ALL situations. But to me, like a lot of others postin here said, definitely got to be some kind of reversal. Nothing better than making some dweeb overshoot and blast them in their 6. Especially if it's someone you don't like. lol

Well my awesome gunnery will have to remain a secret, but I am close to hitting the sky 100%. :rofl :rofl :rofl
As for shaking a bogey, I usually do this.
I jerk and wrench my joystick as my plane (usually missing one wing by now) twists and plummets into the ground. Almost every time I hit the ground the bogey breaks off his attack.
I call it "AKFokerFoder's Fool Proof Bogey Shaking Maneuver" Or AKFFFPBSM for short.
It is one hulluva move, but don't practice this maneuver at home, after all, I am a professional :)
-
Don't have any moves...sometimes surprise enemy fighters when I turn my B17 on the fighters 12.....
and good hunting

Just as much fun doing that while in a 109 as well;)

Back in the good ole days of Fighter Ace --which, incidentally showed name tags and broadcast your mesages on the public channel -- you could throw the plane into a spiral dive and say, "GK". Usually, they would break off and say "ty" at which point, you would run like hell.

Mendez doesn't need any advice on moves.
What he needs to do is hold real still for at least 1 or 2 seconds.
Oh, and also he needs to not wear that little french maid outfit.;)

You really can't have a move:p
I use about 50 at once:D
Stang still beats my arse on merge:confused:
-
My favorite move is going in at 300 mph on an enemy GV and neutering him in one shot.

When all else fails, crossed controls!

My theory is in the link below:
Regarding One's Best Move (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123084)
do not really have a "best" move, but use alot of manuevers in a squence to obtain my desired result ;)

Ahh yes, the old "jerk and swear". I do that alot too.:lol

Think of air combat as a giant game of rock-paper-scissors. Every single move has a counter move, and every counter move has a counter-counter move. No one maneuver defeats all others because that maneuver always has a counter that defeats or neutralizes it.
Of course, at times both players choose the same move. In that event, success boils down to who has the bigger rock, the larger sheet of paper, or the sharpest scissors.

Very well put Leviaweenie! Now you'll have RMmaniac typing on ch 200 that at his school the rolling scissors never beat the hammerhead.
MENDEZ, the best move is to fly with Levi and Blukitty as your wingman!
Last night I upped 6 times into the furball and and the 6 messag3s at the end of each sortie went as follows:
Leviathn has shot you down
Blukitty has shot you down
Blukitty has shot you down
Leviathn has shot you down
Leviathn has shot you down
Blukitty has shot you down
The seventh sortie someone named Gair stole the kill from one of the above mentioned.
They were both using the cannon in your arse move! :D

My best move this month seems to be the 'hit the ground like a comet trailing airplane parts with blood on the cockpit glass'
But thats just this month. Next month I'm hoping to return to being the shooter rather than the target.

^^^ had the incredible luck of filming 3 of my favorite ways to kills someone within 3 mins flying a 109G6 with gondies and tater nose gun.
1: stall fight near some trees. (la7)
2: offer a target then attack right when you get them where you want them. (la7)
3: fake a retreat then force overshoot and pray your taters hit from what ever range shot you get. (spit9)

Mechanic,
That was beautiful, the La fighters I've seen before, people get to overly aggresive with them and die... But against that spit 9 that was a beautiful move you pulled, I've been playing 5 years and I've never seen that before. I'll have to use that next time I'm out, I'm more of a P-51 and Ki-84 driver. That I think will be very useful with my P-51 in as a defensive move.

Thank you for watching and your comments Ed! i enjoyed it alot. all three where good sporting players also.
i think there is alot to be said for deception of motives. IE. look like you're running sometimes, etc.
also, ive found that most moves can be pulled in almost all planes.

I like watching the look on their face when I jump on their wing, rip off the cockpit and strangle them.

As a pony pilot, I love the rolling scissors with 100% flaps.
It doesn't always work, but I love showing my foe that I 'aint afraid to dance. When I get downed, doesn't matter, but it gives me a feeling of accomplishment on the not so uncommon occasions when a la augers trying to follow me.
-
triple immel is a thing of beauty..tracers flying everywhere past your cockpit as the agressor loses all e and u pull over on his 6 to set up for some nasty revenge

Full throttle set up offset merge roll avoid guns go nose high bleed speed yo-yo turn acquire target full throttle WEP nose up (most likely pos for bandit) wingover chop throttle drop flaps roll maintain vis wait for him to come out go lag turn into blind spot close range nose up wings level take the shot BOOM.
Works well in a B-stang.

Not a best move, but fun. Requires that you are about 1K maybe 2K up, in a P40, facing a mounten. Do a loop or two till everyone is nice and slow. Get the bad guy on your six, point nose down, and pretend you are going to run. This works best with a 190, 109, LA7, anything with good excel. So, nose down for a couple of seconds (if you can reach 300mps thats good), drop flaps, and spiral back up. Don't forget to look behind as the bad guy flies intot he mountain with WEP on, muahahahahaah.

I wonder why HT lowered eny on the spitV, because of the pilots skillz who fly them?

I noticed that too. Last night I was getting waxed in a P-51B by Spit IXs and Niks, so I grabbed a Spit V and bagged 5 of the buggers. So maybe its the plane more than the pilot.
I did notice that I can get kills with the .303s when I have the right convergence set up. Incidentally, did all Spit Vs have the dual-cannon package or did some have the early eight .303s?

To answer the quizzical look, that's exactly the thought process I use in a dogfight. There's no interruption of thought; just one loooong free-flow of reflexive thinking. :)
