How about instead of complaining and pounding our fists for change be it Troops, feild porkers, furballers Gvers, landgrabbers,suicide dweebs or whatever And expecting everyone to play the game the way we want it to be played
If when we log on and dont like what is going on wejust pick up our marbles as individuals and go home.
What a unique idea. You dont like whats going on in the game that night and simply log off and go do any of a number of things that might be more productive or just as entertaining.
Watch a movie,read a book, spend time with the family. Go out for a bite to eat. Finally fix that item around the house the wife has been after you to fix for the last two years.
whatever.
Just dont bother whining about the game anymore.
Sitting here it has occured to me that I've been here what,,about 3-4 years now and the exact same arguements are being made now that I saw being made the very first day I came here.
And yanno what?
NOTHING has changed.
NOTHING is going to change.
The game is as it is. Might as well just learn to live with it and get over it or find something else to do because its NOT gonna change.
Youcan snivel and whine and make up dopey names for the things you dont like till the cow really does jump over the moon and its not going to make a bit of difference.

Nope, Im near Exit 8-a although at 11 on tues(I am assuming in the morning) I will be nearer exit 9.

You were one of the many that I always feared. You, eh, SOD and Trooper used to put the fear of god in me. But I always came back .
You are one of the people who taught me how to survive in the flight sim world.
You probably don't remember me in my AW days. My cpid was Rtrhd, then changed to RTR in the dying days of AW. But, I remember you.
I want to thank you for making me learn what I learned then. It served me well in this online pixel to pixel addiction we all have.
Best advice I can give you is, don't expect AW. This sim is what it is. Find a group you can trust and fly with, and have a ball.
It's all what we make of it.

dred..... or... if you like the game exactly how it is how bout if you defend every feature that others don't like and spend time telling em to leave if they don't like the game the way you like it.
If you don't like the complaints or....if you really don't care about em.... how bout showing how little you care by simply not participating in the threads?

Thats not the point.
We've been seeing the same exact arguements of Furballer Vrs Toolshedder for the entire time I've been here. Which is at least 3 years.
And nothing has changed.
Im guessing its a pretty good bet we will be seeing the same exact arguements made 3 years from now too.
and Nothing is gonna change.
Point is, you can not like what you want. Its not going to make a difference.
Both sides have been been beating our heads against a stone wall about this for the 3 years I've been here and what has it accomplished? Nothing.
You can tighten a nut only so many times before you realise its not gonna loossen

HT makes the rules if ya dont like it leave . If you do like it stay.
Also if you don't play by HT rules you can guess what might happen.

No, HT is bound by the same rules of supply and demand also.
If he suddenly put jet engines on the La7, nearly all the players would leave.
So HT has to do his best to keep the customer base happy.
That is unless he's a friggin millionaire anyway and is only doing this for ****s and giggles.

Lets say HT added the B-29 tomorrow perk free.

lasers, If you had $$ actualy invested in the game R&D then you would have a say.
It's still HTC world and we pay to play in it. Thus he makes the rules .

And like I said, unless HT is a millionaire anyway (or can man-prostitute himself out easily) the game goes in the direction that the subscribers want it to.

because I've been reading the boards for that long.
Like I said. I like to argue. But after several years of the same whines from the same people its getting stale.
For that matter why do you bother with the boards making the same arguements when you must have figured out by now its not gonna change anything.

And a horde is a horde is a horde no matter what plane they are in.
My main complaint is about the Furballer/landgrabber arguement.
Its pointelss as nothing, or very little will ever really change about it.
The same arguement has been raging for years and little about the game has changed to address it and certainly not enough to have any kind of meaningfull difference.
And with good reason. There are probably as many people who like the landgrab /toolshed aspect of the game as there is that doesnt so there is little if any reason to change it.
And thus it hasnt and isnt going to change. so why bother argueing about it.

Then with this line of reasoning we can deduct that since somethings have been argued about for years with little if any changed that the game is this way because the subscribers as a whole want it this way.
Because if a significant enough number of subscribers didnt. Significant changes would have already been made. And we can use your "nighttime " statement as such an example.

Some things have changed, ENY , Fuel Burn and Distance between bases are big changes, and they have had huge impact on what planes I can use in game play .
I agree 110% with most all you post about how these disscussions rapidly go from a debate of pros and cons on the topic , to an insulting pissing contest , with the post topic being hijacked, ....... and so it goes... next thing you know I got some poor Buff driver telling me that my job in AcesHigh is fly escort for his sorry butt to win the war . ....and soforth . When all I posted was a simple request for HTC crew to have a look at trying out a small little 3 country Fighter Town ,exactally like we had in AirWarrior in the MA . It's not about changeing the game , but perhaps adding to it ? or at least that's what this post and disscussion started out to be ..

well.... I have noticed that new features and maps somethimes favor the furballers and sometimes favor the strat girls and mouse wielders..
This has allways been the way.
Right now... the pendulum has swung toward making things a lot harder for the furballers to enjoy the game. when it has swung the other way...
The strat girls have not been in the least bit shy about screeeshing out their protests.
Some things that people complain about get changed... some right away... some months or years down the road... some not at all.. and some things change despite any input from players..
what does seem to remain constant (besides the complaining) is that the side that is having it good at the moment allways calls for the other side to stop complaining or asking for change.
dred... you are an example of this. Otherewise... why would yu even read the threads? there are plenty of others to read? You claim to like to argue yet tell us not to argue? little confusing wouldn't you say?

The one thing that does remain constant is change. Why do you think they have a "Bug Report", "Aircraft and Vehicles" and mainly a "Wish List" forum?

In response to posts by the furballers. I know you would like them acquiesce to your point of view and for only your voice to be heard. It seems to bug you that they have not. 14,000 posts doesn't make your point of view more valid. It just means you squawk a lot more. It makes your S/N ratio poor. Reminds me of Gunnit222. He too makes a lot of noise, apparently just because he can.

Anyway, new to the Arena (been out of town for a while). Missed the old AW days and thought I'd drop in and say hi. Obviously a few new acronyms to learn and some disgruntled players to watch my 6 for.
Questions: Is the game fun?
Are skills the key to sucess?
Can you hop in the seat of a fighter and spend several hours white fisted and sweating?
If so, I'm in..
Sounds like the community is great...can't wait to give it a try.
