had a 9800 pro that i bought back in march of '04. the card died on monday, so i sent it off to ati on tuesday morning by ups ( $15 next day noon delivery ).
i knew ati had received the card on wed from my ups tracking number. thursday i kept trying my rma number to check the status of my card, nada kept showing up. this morning i checked the rma number again and nada...wtf. today i came home for lunch and found a fed ex package between the storm and front door, containing one brand new 9800 pro.

thats good to know. I think mine is the process of dieing.
Occasionaly I will get a hard lockup, have to hold the power button, and when it boots back into windows. I get an error saying something about my video card driver causing it.
Which seems strange to me. I've used the same driver forever, and its just now causing it.

Welp, mine died. Weird how it happened too. Didn't notice anything was wrong, with the exception of that lockup I was mentioning earlier, however downloading and re-installing new drivers fixed that.
My onboard LAN died, so I opened the case to slap in a spare PCI NIC card until I could take my motherboard down to get replaced, and I noticed that my video card fan was lieing on the bottom of the case. Dunno how it happened, temperatures always run a stready 42 degrees, but some how the little plastic thing that held the fan into that fan clip melted off.

So now, I just put in an older Gforce4 until I can get another 9800 back.
